Tony Mitchell is willing to own his mistakes and learn from the consequences. The Alabama freshman defensive back made that clear during a profound speech over the weekend.
Mitchell, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2023, committed to play for the Crimson Tide over offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, Auburn, LSU, USC and Ohio State, among others. He chose to enroll early for the spring semester and got to Tuscaloosa in January.
However, while on spring break, Mitchell was arrested in Florida.

Hovland showed some moxy on the course, and his fun side off of it but he missed the mark when trying to pull one on The Bear.
Viktor Hovland took home The Memorial trophy on Sunday. and couldn’t resist trolling event host Jack Nicklaus. Well, he tried anyway. Most know that Nicklaus went to Ohio State University, or short, OSU. The Memorial is played in Dublin, Ohio, a brief 23-minute drive to the Buckeyes campus.
Hovland attended Oklahoma State University, also known as OSU.
If you’ve ever thought that you could hit major league pitching, think again.
Perhaps the only decent feature of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts is the ump cam, which brings viewers a behind-the-plate view of the game that allows them to get a sense of what it would be like to stand in the batter’s box against a big leaguer.
Last month, Gatorade challenged me (Ryan Bagdikian, a social media producer at Sports Illustrated) to try its new workout technology, Gatorade GX. I’m in relatively bad shape—i.e., I’m definitely not a pro athlete—and it’s safe to say the workout Gatorade provided for me definitely differed from my normal nightly walk.
Needless to say, I was classified as a “top sweater” at the event.
Media members even got their own lockers at the event.
The Colts announced Monday they’ve signed former first-round draft pick Breshad Perriman. In a corresponding move, Indianapolis released wide receiver Tyler Adams.
Perriman was selected with the No. 26 pick in the 2015 NFL draft out of UCF by the Ravens and has bounced around the league ever since. The wideout has played for the Ravens, Browns, Jets and had two separate stints with the Buccaneers.
Over his seven-year career, Perriman has tallied 145 catches for 2,343 yards and 16 touchdowns.
We all knew it, but now we know for sure
One of the early plotlines for the third season of Ted Lasso was the signing of Zava by AFC Richmond. The club added the talented, albeit eccentric, striker early in the season, and his addition led to a quick run of success for the club.
However, that early success was more of a mirage than anything else. The team started to sputter, and eventually Zava became disinterested, deciding to step away from the game and focus on an avocado farm.
Tragedy struck an Ironman triathlon taking place in Germany on Sunday after a motorcyclist passed away following a collision with a competitor.
According to police in Hamburg, the 70-year-old motorcyclist who was carrying a camera operator collided with a 26-year-old triathlete when both lanes of the street were being used by competitors.
“At 36 (kilometers) (22 miles) of the IRONMAN Hamburg bike course, a motorcycle race vehicle, carrying an official race photographer, was involved in a collision with a race participant,” Ironman organizers said in an earlier statement.
The Spurs will almost certainly make Victor Wembanyama the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft. And if that means his summer league debut comes in Sacramento instead of Las Vegas in early July, the league is fine with that.
Veteran outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, who was released in March by the Los Angeles Rams, has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, a source confirmed to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
