Shaquille O’Neal was in Denver for Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night, and while he did an excellent job of breaking down the Heat–Nuggets matchup, his special moment before the game had NBA fans getting emotional.
The NBA TV pregame show reminded Shaq that June 4 was the 23rd anniversary of one of his most memorable plays with the great Kobe Bryant—way back in the 2000 Western Conference finals, when Bryant threw a perfect alley-oop to Shaq during the Lakers’ riveting Game 7 comeback win over the Trail Blazers.

Kyrie Irving’s LeBron James trade idea for Mavericks is pure fantasy.
It is not much of a secret that LeBron James and Kyrie Irving would like to play with each other again. James essentially said as much when the Lakers’ trade deadline bid for Irving fell short. The Brooklyn Nets eventually traded Irving to the Dallas Mavericks, who failed to make the NBA Playoffs. Now Irving is set to be an unrestricted free agent, and the rumors about a reunion of the two former Cleveland Cavaliers star is heating up.

Lionel Messi is a free agent after Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier confirmed the Argentine superstar will not be returning to the team after two seasons.
Messi is now linked to his former team Barcelona after his father and agent, Jorge Messi, told reporters Monday that his son is considering returning to the Spanish squad this summer.
“Of course, he [Messi] would love to return to Barcelona,” the elder Messi said, via ESPN. “I would like it too. We will see.”
It’s possible that Messi could return to his former club where he spent 21 years and won 35 trophies.

Stephen A. Smith reportedly makes $8 million a year from ESPN. He has said this figure is not accurate.
Last week, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that last week’s SI Media Podcast guest, Pat McAfee, will make $17 million a year when he joins ESPN this fall.
McAfee has said this figure is not accurate.
Whatever the numbers are, it’s clear McAfee will be making more than Smith, and the First Take host addressed this issue on the latest episode of his podcast.
We’ve seen our fair share of crazy plays in the NCAA Tournament, but Indiana State set a new bar on Sunday against Iowa.
Coming off the heels of the Florida Gators getting thrown-out twice at home plate on the same play, Indiana State’s Adam Pottinger pulled off the mother of all fake catches. Iowa was trailing 11-7 in the 7th inning when Brayden Frazier stepped up to the plate. On the fifth pitch of the at-bat, Frazier sent a bomb to left field, only to have Pottinger pull off a catch. Almost.
What Pottinger did was pull off a fake catch. And a damn good one at that.
Kyrie Irving wants to reunite with former teammate LeBron James, but apparently not with the Lakers. The superstar point guard has informed the Mavericks he wants them to explore trading for James this offseason in order to pair the two up with Luka Dončić in Dallas, according to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes.
Irving already has reached out to James in an attempt to see if he’d be interested in joining him with the Mavericks, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
