Victor Wembanyama, the most anticipated NBA prospect in decades, will make his regular season debut on Wednesday night when the Spurs host the Mavericks to kick off the regular season.
The 7’ 4” Wembanyama, a native of France, was selected with the No. 1 pick by San Antonio in June’s NBA draft, and immediately made the Spurs a must-watch team this season after a multi-year rebuild.
Expectations are sky-high for Wembanyama and his unique game. NBA scouts have been hard-pressed to find a comparison for the Spurs rookie, who has the size of a big but an offensive game like an NBA wing.

Joe Buck should choose his words a little more carefully when it comes to assessing injuries on the field.
Buck was on the call Monday night when the Vikings beat the 49ers 22-17 to improve to 3-4 on the year. However, a comment from the famous broadcaster during the second quarter drew more attention than he probably would have liked.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson needed some medical attention while limping, and Buck used it as an opportunity to claim he caught Minnesota coach Kevin O’Connell telling him to go down.
The implication was clear. O’Connell was telling Hockenson to milk it.

The sportsbooks are saying ‘thank you’ to Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale after he generously handed them at least $13 million by way of various betting losses after his Houston Astros were eliminated from the ALCS last night.
The Houston-based furniture owner who has become synonymous with big-money wagers for the Astros had placed at least four different bets throughout the season for the Astros to once again win the World Series, including a $6.9 million wager prior to the postseason.

It’s not often we get to witness NFL players reject their opponents asking for a jersey swap after a game, but the ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast following the 49ers’ loss to the Vikings gifted us with that exact scenario between Christian McCaffrey and Harrison Phillips.
