The Grizzlies announced Sunday that center Steven Adams will miss the entire 2023–24 season after undergoing right knee surgery.
Adams missed the end of the 2022–23 season due to a knee injury and according to the team, “non-operative rehabilitation did not resolve ongoing knee instability.” As a result, he’ll undergo surgery on his right posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).
This is a massive loss for a Memphis squad looking to repeat its regular season success after finishing as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference last year.

Bears quarterback Justin Fields may not be sidelined for long after suffering a dislocated thumb in the team’s 19-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 6, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.
During the third quarter of Bears-Vikings game, Fields was scrambling to his left before he was sacked from behind by Vikings outside linebacker Danielle Hunter. After Hunter brought Fields to the ground, it appeared that he landed on Fields’s right hand.
Ahead of Week 7 action on Sunday, Glazer said the Bears’ quarterback likely avoided a major injury in last week’s contest.
The NFL has threatened to hand down significant punishment to any players or teams involved in fights before or during games.
Bill Belichick is inarguably one of the greatest football coaches of all time. But 2023 is shaping up to be the worst season of his storied career.
Once a perennial Super Bowl contender, Belichick’s New England Patriots are 1-5. They’re off to their worst start since 1995 — well before Bill took over. Worse, the Pats are in the middle of a three-game losing streak, during which they’ve scored only 20 points and are four games behind the AFC East-leading Miami Dolphins.
In other words, these aren’t your daddy’s Patriots.
Michigan is the best team in college football through the first eight weeks of the season and there isn’t a close second best.
Now I understand there’s a ton of smoke surrounding the program for alleged sign stealing, but unless we uncover some insanely high tech level of sign stealing, every team is doing their best to steal the other team’s signs.
Week 7 in the NFL comes to an end when the 49ers travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings. Unfortunately, both squads will be without some of the best playmakers in the NFL with wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Deebo Samuel both ruled out due to injury and running back Christian McCaffrey questionable with an oblique injury. Sure, it’s always fun to focus on the best offensive players when picking props but that’s not the hand we are dealt for this Monday Night matchup.
Oddsmakers at SI Sportsbook list San Francisco as a 6.5 point road-favorites with the Over/Under sitting at 43.5.

Here’s what you need to know about how to watch Sunday Night Football.
All signs point toward 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey playing against the Vikings on Monday Night Football despite being listed as questionable with an oblique injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. McCaffrey returned to practice Saturday where he said he felt “great.”
The tailback suffered the injury against the Browns last Sunday and was seen on the sideline stretching in an attempt to return to the field afterward. He eventually returned to the locker room and was ruled out before his team lost 19–17.
The Lions are tied for the best record in the NFC and can show if that mark is real or a mirage based on how they handle the Ravens. Plus: Updates from the early window.
