The poor air quality stems from wildfires in Canada, which has spread smoke hundreds of miles away. The situation made for an eerie scene during Tuesday night’s White Sox-Yankees game, which was played as scheduled and resulted in a 3-2 win for Chicago.

The WNBA postponed Wednesday night’s game between the Liberty and the Lynx, set to take place at the Barclays Center in New York City, due to the dangerous air quality in the area caused by the ongoing wildfire disaster in eastern Canada, the league announced Wednesday.
Winsidr’s Rachel Galligan first reported the news of the postponement. 
In the official press release, the WNBA noted that New York City and surrounding areas are under an “Air Quality Health Advisory” through Thursday morning.
