The New York Islanders have announced they will not be wearing rainbow warm-up jerseys or using rainbow tape for their upcoming Pride Night scheduled for Thursday night.
This makes them the latest team to forego making their players wear rainbow jerseys meant to show support for the LGBTQ community.
However, this doesn’t mean that the team will not be holding a Pride Night when the Vancouver Canucks roll (perhaps, more accurately, limp) into town on Thursday. While the players won’t be throwing on sweaters or using tape, the team will be making donations to a pair of LGBTQ charities.

PHOENIX — NFL officiating was often criticized by loud and prominent voices from within and outside the league this season, but despite that critique commissioner Roger Goodell believes game officials are doing an awesome job.
“I think for us, when you look at officiating, I don’t think it’s ever been better in the league,” Goodell said Wednesday at his annual state of the league press conference.
“There are over 42,000 plays in a season. Multiple infractions could occur on any play. Take that average and extrapolate that. That’s hundreds, if not millions of potential fouls.

Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines has led the charge in speaking out against against biological males competing in women’s athletics.
But despite revealing she has received countless private messages supporting her stance — many from elite athletes– the former Wildcats’ swimmer realized that is a major part of the problem.

The massive deal would send three former All-Star guards to new homes.
The Lakers, Jazz and Timberwolves are discussing a three-team trade that would see all three squads swap former All-Star guards, according to a Wednesday afternoon report from Shams Charania and Tony Jones of The Athletic.
