Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson signed new contracts this offseason. Both eclipse $50 million on a per-year basis, joining Aaron Rodgers in that illustrious club.
The Lions announced the release of wide receiver Stanley Berryhill on Tuesday afternoon.
Berryhill was one of Detroit’s players whom the NFL suspended last month for gambling in the team facility. Berryhill was initially given a six-game suspension, because he placed bets on non-NFL games while in the Lions facility.
Last season, Berryhill played his rookie season with the Lions after going undrafted out of Arizona. He played in four games and did not record a catch, instead primarily playing on special teams.
