After a scary scene unfolded at Pittsburgh’s PNC Park when Yankees reliever Anthony Misiewicz was struck in the head by a line drive, the Yankees announced that the 28-year-old “alert and oriented” after being taken to a local hospital.
“He was assessed by Pittsburgh team doctors and was transported to Allegheny General Hospital where he will undergo further testing,” the Yankees said.
Misiewicz, who was facing Ji-hwan Bae in the bottom of the sixth inning, was struck by a screaming comeback liner off the side of his head.

New York Yankees pitcher Anthony Misiewicz was hit in the head by a hard hit line drive Friday night at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
Misiewicz, a 28-year-old reliever, was pitching in the bottom of the 6th inning, facing Pirates hitter Ji Hwan Bae, and threw a breaking ball in the zone. Bae crushed a 100.6mph line drive, directly back at the box.
Initially, Misiewicz seemed to attempt to make a play on the ball, raising his glove. But the ball hit him squarely in the side of the head, in a terrifying scene. The impact was so severe, the ball ricocheted all the way into the middle of right field.

The NASCAR legend returned to the track for his annual one-off race at the Coliseum Friday night, and was damn good. He led a ton of laps, and was a real contender for the win as the laps ticked down,
Then, just like that, it was all up in flames — literally.
Earnhardt Jr., running fourth, ducked down to pit road with 30 laps to go while challenging for the lead when his No. 88 Chevy evidently caught fire.
