Sahith Theegala, a rising star on the PGA Tour, knew he wanted to play alongside LPGA rookie Rose Zhang at the Grant Thornton Invitational.
Two of professional golf’s rising stars have teamed up for the newest PGA Tour-LPGA co-sanctioned event, the Grant Thornton Invitational.
Sahith Theegala and Rose Zhang will tee it up together in the December event, which will be held in Naples, Florida.
When Theegala first found out about the event, he immediately thought of Zhang. It was an easy choice who he wanted to play with, per Gabrielle Herzig of Sports Illustrated.

In F1, there aren’t many things that are exactly the same for all teams. The drivers are all unique, as are their steering wheels, setup choices, car floors and even the rear wings. In fact, most parts on or in the cars are different from that of rival vehicles.
But there is one constant among all 10 teams on the grid: the tires. Pirelli has been the sole tire supplier to F1 since 2011. Founded more than 150 years ago in Milan, Italy, Pirelli has an essential but often overlooked job in the championship.
Ole Miss’ trip to New Orleans to take on Tulane on Saturday is one of the marquee matchups of the Week 2 slate. The expectation is for both ranked teams to score, and score in bunches, but on the off-chance that the contest ends up being a dud, at least both programs are blessing our eyes with some of the best uniforms in all of college football.
Fox Sports personality Nick Wright has become one of the Chiefs’ biggest supporters in the media, so much so that he made a very permanent prediction this week. Wright predicted on his show, First Things First, that Kansas City would go 20-0 this season, and to seal the deal he got a “Never A Doubt” tattoo on his left forearm.
Well, one game into the 2023 NFL season and Wright’s prediction is already up in smoke, as the Chiefs lost to the Lions on Thursday night. After their win, the Lions trolled Wright with a clever tweet.
Yes, it’s real.

Daniel Ricciardo’s stunning return to the Formula 1 grid was cut short almost as quickly as it happened. The driver suffered an injury in the second practice session ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix after he swerved into the wall to avoid a collision with Oscar Piastri, and the resulting broken bone in his left hand required surgery.
A bad day at the office.
We all have a bad day at work sometimes, even if you’re a ballboy. On Thursday night a member of the Marlins’ crew committed the cardinal sin of being a ballboy.

The poor guy just seemed really amped to have an opportunity to throw a ball into the stands. The issue was that it was still live, after being hit fair by Freddie Freeman.
The Lions left Kansas City with a statement win on Thursday over the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs.
Even if you believed the hype, it’s fair to be a bit surprised by the outcome of the opener.
Dan Campbell wasn’t. After his team’s 21-20 win, he was asked what he learned and responded: “I didn’t learn anything. I got verification of what I already knew.”
The Lions’ Super Bowl odds are already on the move. Earlier this week, they were +2000 to win the Big Game but those odds dropped to +1600 (tied with the Jets for seventh-best) after Thursday’s win.
That was fun.
NFL fans called out NBC’s Mike Tirico after his postgame comments about the Detroit Lions’ upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday went viral.
Tirico said that the win for Detroit would have an asterisk next to it because Kansas City didn’t have star defensive tackle Chris Jones or Patrick Mahomes’ top target, star tight end Travis Kelce, available for the game (Jones due to a contract dispute, Kelce due to a knee injury).
That rubbed many around the NFL the wrong way, minimizing what was one of the biggest wins for the Lions’ franchise in a long time.

The Americans are heading to Rome this weekend to scout the golf course and likely draft plans for the Ryder Cup.
The Americans are heading to Rome.
Three weeks from Friday, the first tee shot will be struck at Marco Simone Golf Club, the site of the 44th Ryder Cup.
But plenty of American players have little to no experience of playing this golf course.
… Oh no.
Every once in a while the ball boy or ball girl will get a standing ovation for making a daring catch of a line drive, or hopping into the stands to catch a foul ball.
But this… this isn’t what you want.
The Miami Marlins right field ball boy had all eyes on him Thursday night but for all the wrong reasons after he took a live ball and threw it about 45 rows into the stands.
