As the Texans are once again looking for a new head coach, they completed an interview with a highly-sought-after candidate on Friday. Current 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans was the latest coach to talk with Houston about the opening.
Houston knows Ryans well, as he played linebacker for the Texans from 2006 to ’11 and was one of the best players in franchise history. Therefore, former Texans star JJ Watt knows him well, and the future hall-of-famer put his stamp of approval on a potential Ryan hire.

The Lakers defeated the Grizzlies on Friday night, but the focus on the game was more about what happened off the court than on. Fox Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe got into it with the Grizzlies, which included Ja Morant’s father Tee, leading to incidents with Steven Adams and Dillon Brooks, among others.

Tee Morant, father of star point guard Ja Morant, explained that he and Shannon Sharpe “are good” after the two were at the center of a fracas during Friday night’s game between the Grizzlies and the Lakers in Los Angeles.

Since Brock Purdy has taken over as the starting quarterback of the 49ers, the team is an undefeated 6–0, with seven wins when including the game Purdy replaced an injured Jimmy Garoppolo. In those seven games, Purdy has 16 touchdowns to just three interceptions, with a completion percentage over 60% in each game.
