The madness of march continues with the men’s Sweet 16, where seven of the eight matchups have point spreads of less than eight points.
After the usual first-week bracket busting of the NCAA tournament, it’s time to sift through the wreckage in search of a new set of underdogs to back. With seven of the eight games featuring point spreads of less than eight points — and four of them less than five points — the expectation is for a lot of close and competitive basketball this week.
The ‘dogs I’m focused on this week:
Sweet 16 Bet: No. 9 Florida Atlantic (+5.5) vs. No.
The veteran totaled six sacks in Dallas last season.
The Cowboys are bringing back pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr. on a one-year deal, ESPN’s Jon Machota reports.
Fowler is a seven-year NFL veteran whom the Jaguars originally drafted with the third pick of the 2015 NFL draft. After missing his entire rookie season, Fowler played 2.5 seasons in Jacksonville before the team traded him to the Rams in ’18.
Since then, Fowler has played for Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas as a primary pass rusher.
The Kentucky coach received some backlash for the nickname he used in reference to Markquis Nowell.
Following Kansas State’s 75–69 win over Kentucky in Sunday’s round of 32 game in the men’s NCAA tournament, Kentucky coach John Calipari referred to one of the opposing players as “the little kid.”
That player was Markquis Nowell, who scored 27 points and racked up nine assists, three steals and two rebounds for the victorious Wildcats on Sunday. Nowell stands at just 5’ 7”, so traditionally much shorter than the average men’s college basketball player.
Basketball fans were concerned over the weekend after Shaquille O’ Neal tweeted a photo of himself in a hospital bed.

Vikingo is ready to show the world why the hype around him is warranted.
Vikingo will make his AEW debut this week in a long-awaited match against Kenny Omega.
Initially set to meet at AAA’s Triplemanía in December 2021, they were called off due to Omega’s mounting injuries, which necessitated him to be away from wrestling for more than eight months. Before his time away to recuperate, Omega was AAA’s mega champion—but he was forced to relinquish the title, which was then won by Vikingo at that same Triplemanía.
Rick Pitino is back at Madison Square Garden and he has his sights set on success, immediately. The 70-year-old New York-native was introduced as the head basketball coach at St. John’s on Tuesday morning with a promise.
He says that the Red Storm will return to its glory days. Johnnies everywhere are pumped.

The Memphis guard last played on March 3.
With the regular season drawing to a close, the Grizzlies may soon have the services of their star point guard once again.
Memphis expects guard Ja Morant to return Wednesday evening against the Rockets, Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins told reporters Tuesday afternoon.
Morant has been out since March 3, when he scored 27 points in a 113–97 loss to the Nuggets and appeared to flash a gun in a nightclub after the game on Instagram Live.
