The Oregon Ducks beat up on Portland State Vikings in a game about as lopsided as they get.
The soon-to-be Big Ten school put up a whopping 81 points en route to an 81-7 win over the Vikings.
However, the one who will be feeling it the most on Sunday morning will be the Ducks mascot.
You see, they’re one of those teams that have the mascot do pushups matching the number of points they score.
Yeah, the mascot — whose name is simply The Oregon Duck had to do a lot of pushups.

The race for Catch of the Year might be over at the collegiate level
We are not yet finished with the first full week of college football action.
But thanks to Texas State wide receiver Joey Hobert, the chase for Catch of the Year might be over.

ESPN’s Robert Griffin III had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction while jumping into a lake ahead of the Washington and Boise State game Saturday.
RGIII was on a boat pumping the Washington Huskies and their nasty offense led by QB Michael Peniz Jr.
He started that tire-pumping by talking about how the team was”making waves.” According to the laws of television live shots, he had to tie that in again.
“Speaking of making waves…” he said.
Yes, he was headed for the drink.
“…let’s go ahead and this bad boy with a splash.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe entered Saturday as a bit of an unknown quantity to the larger college football world.
However, thanks to a bad snap for the No. 4 Crimson Tide against Middle Tennessee Saturday evening, he’s a bit closer to name recognition.
With 10:49 left in the first quarter, Milroe watched an errant snap dribble past him. He picked the ball up, evaded a tackler in the pocket, scrambled to his right and eventually outran three Blue Raiders for Alabama’s first touchdown of the season.

Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos pulled off a fourth down conversion the likes of which you will not see often.
The Eagles were hosting the Northern Illinois Huskies to open their season. With just under 9 minutes to play in regulation, the Eagles found themselves down 21 to 7.
Running out out of options they decided to go for it on 4th-and-5 from their own 46-yard line.
That turned out to be the right call but it wasn’t exactly easy.

This might be the greatest 4th down conversion I’ve ever seen! I love college football!!! #BostonCollege pic.twitter.

Las Vegas has been experiencing extreme rainfall by its usual standards, with heavy flooding hitting the Strip.
While seeing desert streets flood after strong thunderstorms isn’t too surprising, typically you’d expect the extremely expensive buildings in Las Vegas to be safe from rain-related issues.
But apparently not the $2 billion home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Allegiant Stadium. Allegiant is the football home of the UNLV Rebels, who were set to open their 2023 season against the FBS Bryant Bulldogs.
Except the rain in Sin City had other ideas.

As Michigan’s stock rose from 2021 to ’22, so too rose the stock of associate head coach Biff Poggi.
Hired away from Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore before the ’21 season, Poggi became widely recognized as a critical contributor to the Wolverines’ back-to-back Big Ten championships. In Nov. 2022, The Athletic went so far as to call Poggi “[coach] Jim Harbaugh’s consigliere” and “the most interesting man in coaching.”
Charlotte recognized this, and poached Poggi from Michigan in Nov. ’22 to replace fired coach Will Healy.

After Randall Cobb was hit with a penalty for a blindside block on Giants safety Bobby McCain, his longtime Packers-turned-Jets teammate Aaron Rodgers nailed what would happen next.
“Cobby lost all his f—ing training camp money,” Rodgers exclaimed in the huddle after the penalty, a moment caught on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
“What are you doing, bro? This ain’t 2014,” he continued. “I blacked out. … I haven’t been able to hit nobody in a while,” Cobb responded.
As Rodgers predicted, the NFL didn’t look kindly upon Cobb’s violent hit back on Aug. 26.
