We’re still in the first week of Major League Baseball’s pitch clock era. Some people will need to sit with a bit more before deciding whether or not they’re in favor of it, however, John Smoltz has seen enough.
He’s all in on the pitch clock.
The Fox Sports MLB analyst sat down with TMZ Sports to talk about the start of the season.

“I’m excited about the opportunity that baseball has with these changes and with the rule changes to get the game action-packed again,” Smoltz said, “I think it’s going to be phenomenal.

The Women’s Final Four captivated millions across the country on Friday evening, and the viewership numbers back it up. 
ESPN revealed that the 2023 Women’s Final Four was its most viewed edition of the NCAA Division I women’s college basketball semifinal across ESPN platforms in recorded history, according to viewership data from Nielsen’s fast nationals. 
Per ESPN, across its platforms, the two NCAA tournament semifinal games averaged 4.5 million viewers, up 66% from last season’s Final Four games.

Unlike Florida Atlantic and San Diego State, which hit nearly every three-pointer they hoisted up in the first half of their Final Four showdown, Grant Hill came up short with perhaps the simplest shot taken over the first twenty minutes.

The two-time NCAA champion, who starred in his time with Duke before a career in the NBA, struggled to nail a 12-foot putt during the first half of the Final Four showdown between the Owls and the Aztecs. CBS play-by-play man Jim Nantz provided the commentary for the pressure-laced putt and delivered with yet another call for the ages.

Is there ever a bad place to work on your golf game? Even at the Final Four, Jim Nantz and Grant Hill were giving us a preview of the upcoming Masters, which starts next week.
It’s hard enough to make a putt in-front of a national television audience, but I give Grant Hill credit for trying to get it in the cup, with Nantz chiming him. Forget the on-court game, Hill had to deal with putting on a rigid carpet, with chords underneath the surface.

UConn has been the most dominant team in the NCAA tournament so far and the first half was no different.

CBS Sports play-by-play man Jim Nantz is calling his last March Madness tournament this year, and fans on hand for the Florida Atlantic and San Diego State game made sure to show him their appreciation.

Nantz has been the voice of the tournament for three decades but has announced that 2023 will be his last year broadcasting March Madness.

Darius Slay and the Eagles were able to agree to terms on a three-year contract this offseason, keeping the 32-year-old from hitting free agency. There were times, however, when it seemed a deal would not be reached.
Speaking on the Big Play Slay podcast, the veteran defensive back admitted that he’d been in conversation with another team before ultimately re-signing with Philadelphia.
On Saturday, Slay revealed that he had a contract lined up with the Ravens in free agency, indicating that he was extremely close to making the move to Baltimore.

HOUSTON – You did not really think that Connecticut star guard Jordan Hawkins was going to sit this one out?
The 6-foot-5 sophomore sharpshooter missed practice Friday with a stomach bug, but he plans to be in the starting lineup tonight for the No. 4 seed Huskies when they play No. 5 seed Miami in the second national semifinal of the Final Four at NRG Stadium (8:49 p.m., CBS). CBS Sports reported Hawkins would play, according to a source.

When No. 1 South Carolina’s undefeated season came to an end in the Final Four against No. 2 Iowa, the senior forward was struck by the enormity of the moment. “When that buzzer went off, it was kind of just an end of an era, it feels like,” Boston said.
