Once favorites to win their conferences, both San Francisco and Houston look weak as hell.
A few months in the NFL makes a world of difference. Just ask the 49ers and Texans. Once sweetheart picks to win their respective conferences, now we’re left with two hollow husks of what could have been — proving that hope in football is a fleeting, fool’s errand.
San Francisco and Houston are in very different positions this season. The Texans are 7-5, on pace to win the NFL’s most pathetic division in the AFC South.

The Connecticut Sun, Dallas Wings, and Washington Mystics are all on the hunt for a head coach next season.
After a historic WNBA season, eight head coaching vacancies opened up across the league: the Golden State Valkyries needed their franchise’s first-ever coach, while the Indiana Fever, Connecticut Sun, Dallas Wings, Atlanta Dream, Washington Mystics, Los Angeles Sparks, and Chicago Sky all parted ways with their 2024 coaches and were thus on the hunt as well.
Five of the eight vacancies have already been filled.
Baker Mayfield busting out the Tommy DeVito celebration in emphatic fashion after scoring a rushing touchdown against the New York Giants on Sunday was epic in its own right, but his response when asked about doing the celebration may have been better than the act itself.
The viral moment came when the Tampa Bay quarterback found the endzone just before halftime to extend his team’s lead to 23-0. After bouncing off the turf, Mayfield jumped up and did DeVito’s signature hand gesture toward the crowd in MetLife Stadium.
Wisconsin football fans have their first good news in a very long time.
The Badgers are currently 5-6, one of the most disappointing teams in America, have lost four straight games, got blown out by Nebraska over the weekend and the team needs a win over Minnesota to keep its bowl streak alive.
To call the situation in Madison dire would be a massive understatement. It feels like the ship is sinking and the lifeboats have been cut loose.
Well, it appears some help is on the way.
A quick flip of the TV dial on Sunday morning was supposed to change everything we know and have seen from Daniel Jones in 69 NFL starts over the last six years.
Suddenly, the dude who fumbled a lot and was hurt sporadically his first three years, and then simply didn’t play to expectations or potential the next three years – minus last year when he was mostly out for the season – is really, really good.
And NFL teams are really, really enamored of him now.

Recapping the winners and losers from the Las Vegas Grand Prix
A season ago the combination of Max Verstappen and the RB19 effectively ended the Formula 1 title race before the summer break. The sport’s dominant driver, in the cockpit of one of the greatest cars in F1 history, left the rest of the field fighting for second behind him. It was a masterful display of driver, skill, and engineering at the highest level of the sport.

In his 142nd start on the PGA Tour, Maverick McNealy finally picked up a victory at the RSM Classic.
Maverick McNealy stood on the 18th tee in a four-way tie for first at 15-under par. He knew a birdie would give him a terrific chance to pick up his first win at the RSM Classic. He also knew that two solid golf shots would give him that opportunity.
So, after splitting the fairway, McNealy had won half the battle.

How does the 2025 NFL Draft order shape up after Week 12.
The NFL is wrapping up Week 12 with a huge Monday Night Football matchup, but Sunday brought some huge upsets. The Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans came into the weekend climbing the draft board, but both pulled off stunners. The Cowboys gave the Washington Commanders a difficult time and escaped with a win after Austin Seibert missed a potential game-tying extra point. Earlier in the day, the Titans blocked a field goal late to shock the Houston Texans.
The Montana State Bobcats were feeling themselves after blowing out Montana.
The Bobcats blew out the Grizzlies 34-11 in the Brawl of the Wild this past weekend to finish the regular season 12-0. Not only did Montana State go undefeated, but the win helped the program lock up the top seed in the FCS playoffs.
The Bobcats are rolling, and the vibes were high after the game.
The Bobcats took to social media to twist the knife a bit after winning the historic rivalry game. The team tweeted a video of players smoking victory cigars set to Frank Sinatra’s song “My Way.
