The men’s national championship game is set! UConn, the tournament’s most dominant team to date, rolled past Miami by 13 points for a fifth straight win by double figures, while San Diego State stunned FAU on Lamont Butler’s buzzer-beating jumper to complete a 14-point rally. That sets the stage for Monday night’s title game, a matchup that feels far more like David vs. Goliath than the teams’ seeds would indicate.

UConn is back in the national championship, having taken down Miami in the Final Four to continue their dominant run during the NCAA tournament.
Head coach Dan Hurley kept it real with his team after the win, telling the Huskies in the locker room that he wasn’t surprised they were headed to the title game. In fact, in the eyes of Hurley, this game was never in any doubt.
“I’m not that excited fellas. Really, to be honest with you, because we knew we were going to be playing on Monday,” said Hurley to a round of applause from the team.
Sports Twitter had plenty to say about the matchup.
HOUSTON—Asasha Lache Hall wasn’t in the stands at NRG Stadium to see her little brother become an instant NCAA tournament hero. But she was present.
Her picture is the screensaver on San Diego State guard Lamont Butler’s phone, and he believes her spirit was with him as he played—just as it’s been with him for the 14 months since his parents delivered him terrible news: Asasha had been murdered in her California home at age 30.
She would have adored this moment.
HOUSTON – Connecticut is a blue blood, and it just won its fifth straight NCAA Tournament game by double digits, ripping Miami, 72-59, late Saturday night in the second game of the Final Four.
The No. 4 seed Huskies (30-8) will be after their fifth national championship since 1999 and they are in their sixth Final Four. They will play No. 5 seed San Diego State (32-6), which is in its first Final Four and beat No. 9 seed Florida Atlantic, 72-71, in thriller earlier Saturday.
Tip-off for the title game is at 9:20 p.m. Monday on CBS.
49ers tight end George Kittle made a surprise appearance at WWE’s WrestleMania 39, teaming up with former Colts punter Pat McAfee against The Miz.
McAfee, who was making an impromptu appearance of his own, challenged the event’s host to an official match, during which Kittle got involved.
After Kittle was seen chirping at The Miz during his match with McAfee, the tight end proceeded to jump the barrier and wildly clothesline the two-time WWE MVP.
McAfee then climbed to the top rope of the ring and dove head first at The Miz, before jumping up and celebrating with Kittle.
The four-time national champion UConn Huskies posted their fifth consecutive dominant victory in the men’s NCAA tournament on Saturday night in the Final Four.
Continuing their rampage through the men’s NCAA tournament, the Huskies earned the school’s first trip to the national championship game since 2014 by crushing Miami 72–59 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
UConn, which took a 37–24 lead into halftime, dominated the Hurricanes on both ends of the court. Dan Hurley’s squad shot 49.1% from the field (28-of-57).
Things were looking up for the Jacksonville Jaguars after this season, and for that reason, the team’s owner, Shad Khan, is excited about what’s to come.
The Jags finished last season 9-8, good enough for first in a weak AFC South. After a stunning comeback win over the Chargers, the Jags were eliminated by the eventual Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Considering where they had been a year earlier, it was great.
In an interview with his team’s website at the NFL annual meeting, Khan shared his optimism for 2023.
No. 4 Connecticut was never in danger and overpowered 5-seed Miami from the very start to book its ticket to the national championship.
How, on the biggest stage in college hoops, could you not have a pair of backup sneakers?
Well, how about we ask the Miami Hurricanes’ point guard Nijel Pack.
His shoe broke during the Hurricanes‘ Final Four date with the Uconn Huskies.
Now, I assumed that somewhere in the bowels of NRG Stadium, the Hurricanes had a wealth of emergency backup sneakers that could go to should the need arise.
This is apparently not the case
