DETROIT (AP) — Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Dennis Santana was involved in an altercation with a fan during the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers and at one point is seen leaping and swiping at the person.
In videos posted to social media, Santana can be seen pointing out the fan to a police officer before jumping and swinging at the person who is in the front row above the Pittsburgh bullpen at Comerica Park.
The fan appeared to be wearing a Tigers hat and a shirt honoring Pirates Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente.

NEW YORK — The Liberty lost their second game of the season Thursday night after a fourth-quarter surge by the Phoenix Mercury.
But the loss of the Liberty’s star center before the defeat is far more important for a team looking to defend the franchise’s first title.
The Mercury managed to hold off Breanna Stewart’s 35-point performance by winning the fourth quarter, 25-16, and eventually win the game 89-81 at Barclays Center on Thursday night.

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Hunter Bigge was stretchered off the field on Thursday after being hit with a 105-mph foul ball.
Bigge was hit from the Rays’ dugout, off a foul line drive from Baltimore Orioles’ Adley Rutschman.
WATCH:
At 105, the ball rocketed to Bigge and hit him in the face. The game was delayed for several minutes while Bigge remained on the ground.  
EMTs attended to Bigge, stabilizing his neck on the backboard, who had blood on his face, as noted by Kevin Brown on the Orioles’ MASN broadcast.

Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Dennis Santana was caught on video swinging at a fan in the seats at Comerica Park in a doubleheader versus the Detroit Tigers. Santana was frustrated and tried hitting a fan near the bullpen, which Major League Baseball will definitely investigate. 
Santa was seen on video jumping up to try to clock the fan as they had a verbal altercation. A Pirates coach stepped in to cool off the angry Santana.
