The votes are in, and the media’s pick for the Big Ten champion in 2025 is…
The Penn State Nittany Lions!
The Nittany Lions received 11 first-place votes, one more than defending national champion Ohio State, and are one of the odds-on favorites to not only win the conference, but the College Football Playoff as well.
While the media may be convinced that Penn State is ready to take things to the next level and add some hardware to its trophy case this fall, I am not so moved.

The Dallas Cowboys have begun their football business with the opening of training camp in Oxnard, CA., but the financial business of signing edge rusher Micah Parsons to a contract extension is what dominated the opening news conference with Jerry Jones.
And at that presser, the club’s owner, president and general manager gave us the clearest reasoning why the Cowboys have seemingly slow-walked getting a Parsons deal done, even as the overall price for doing so rises steadily.
It’s about injuries. And guaranteed money.
Saul Niguez on the verge of new move after pulling out of deal due to ‘personal stuff’
Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez is close to ending his 17-year stay at the club, with a permanent move on the horizon for the 30-year-old. It will not be to Turkish side Trabzonspor though, after Saul confirmed that he was not making the move to the Super Lig.
Saul had agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor, and was in talks with Atletico to negotiate a contract termination.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Doug McDermott agreed to a one-year, $3.6 million contract on Monday to return to the Sacramento Kings.
McDermott’s agent Mark Bartelstein confirmed that McDermott will be back in Sacramento for a second season after playing 42 games for the Kings in 2024-25.
The 33-year-old McDermott provides another outside shooting threat for Sacramento after he shot 43.6% from 3-point range last season. McDermott averaged 3.5 points per game in limited action last season.
McDermott initially entered the league as a first-round pick by Chicago in 2014 and has averaged 8.
Report – Talks Between Atalanta & Inter Milan For Nigeria Star Hit Stalemate
Negotiations between Atalanta and Inter Milan for Ademola Lookman are reportedly not progressing as expected.
According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Inter see La Dea’s request to get Francesco Pio Esposito as a provocation.
Therefore, the deal is currently on hold.
Despite Lookman’s desire to move to San Siro, Atalanta have no intention of budging on their valuation of Lookman.
Indeed, Ivan Juric’s men are holding out for a substantial €50 million price tag.
The Cowboys confirmed that they have enforced the de-escalator clause in Trevon Diggs’ contract, lowering the cornerback’s base salary from $9 million to $8.5 million, because he didn’t rehab enough at the team facility.
“The de-escalation is contractually spelled out,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. “When he decided to train in South Florida, he understood what the consequences would be.”
Dallas places base-salary de-escalator clauses in its large contracts, all but guaranteeing participation in the offseason program.
Cowboys Legend Sends Strong Message on Raiders’ Jack Bech originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Las Vegas Raiders invested a lot in the wide receiver position during the 2025 NFL Draft. Last season, the team had one of the worst passing attacks in the league, so they needed offensive firepower to surround new quarterback Geno Smith.
TCU wideout Jack Bech was taken in the second round, followed by Tennessee’s Dont’e Thornton Jr. and Montana State’s Tommy Mellot in the fourth and sixth rounds.
