Former Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava is looking for a new program. One possible destination can be crossed off the list.
Via Pete Nakos of On3.com, Bill Belichick’s North Carolina Tar Heels are out of the Iamaleava pursuit.
Iamaleava recently de-Volunteered from Tennessee after failing to get a bump in his NIL payment to $4 million for 2025. He has also been linked to UCLA and Tulana.
The Tar Heels, per Nakos, are regarded as the favorites to land South Alabama quarterback Gio Lopez.
The next transfer portal officially opens on Wednesday.

The Ohio State-Michigan rivalry took quite a twist Monday in Washington D.C. at the Buckeyes’ White House party with President Trump when a Wolverines’ fan tried to crash the event.
“I don’t know who let the guy over in the corner here in a Michigan hat into this celebration but I’m about to tell the Secret Service you’ve got a dangerous weapon, sir,” Vice President JD Vance told the crowd of Buckeyes fans who had to witness the man taunt them by waving his ugly maize and blue hat in the air.

Rory McIlroy finally won the Masters to complete the career Grand Slam in his 11th attempt. It was the biggest win at Augusta National since Tiger Woods won his fifth green jacket in 2019. And, at least according to TV ratings, it was even bigger than Woods’ tournament victory.
While the first and second rounds suffered from the lack of Tiger Woods, the final round certainly didn’t. According to CBS, the final round averaged 12.7 million viewers and peaked at 19.5 million viewers during the playoff between McIlroy and Justin Rose.
