The Oklahoma Sooners were dealt a major blow on Friday evening when news broke that defensive lineman David Stone had entered the transfer portal. Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported that the former five-star prospect would be leaving OU in search of his next team.
Stone was a gigantic recruiting win for head coach Brent Venables in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The No. 9 overall player in On3’s industry rankings chose to come to Norman as a building block for Oklahoma up front on defense. Now, he’ll leave the Sooners after just one season in crimson and cream.

NEW YORK (AP) — Francisco Lindor homered off Ryan Fernandez leading off the ninth inning, and the New York Mets survived a late blown lead to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 5-4 on Friday night.
Brendan Donovan had homered off Huascar Brazobán (1-0) starting the the top of the ninth, tying it at 4 with a drive off the netting of the right field foul pole.
Lindor drove a cutter on the third pitch from Fernandez (0-2) into the right field second deck for his 250th homer and his first walk-off homer with the Mets.

Francisco Lindor hit his first Mets walk-off home run in the team’s 5-4 win over the Cardinals at CitiField on Friday night.
It is Lindor’s 250th career home run.
The Mets (13-7) have now won consecutive games after losing consecutive games for the first time this season.
Here are the takeaways…
-Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas held the Mets offense down for the first four innings, allowing just four base-runners in that span. However, the Mets’ bats woke up in the fifth with Brett Baty‘s leadoff double and Tyrone Taylor driving him home with a triple.

This evening, the Cincinnati Bearcats added one of the top offensive lineman in the transfer portal with former South Dakota offensive tackle Joe Cotton. Cotton is a 6’7″, 315 pound offensive tackle that will help sure up a position of weakness for the Bearcats.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Paul Goldschmidt had three of New York’s five hits and scored on Trent Grisham’s RBI single,Carlos Rodón limited Tampa Bay to two hits in six innings and the Yankees beat the Rays 1-0 on Friday night at Steinbrenner Field for their fifth straight victory.
Grisham’s broken-bat looper in the second scored Goldschmidt from second base with two outs. Goldschmidt also made three important defensive plays at first base.
Rodón (2-0) snapped a personal three-game losing streak and had a season-best nine strikeouts.

President Donald Trump met with Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred at the White House on Wednesday, per a Washington Post report confirmed by Fox News.
Though the league confirmed that Manfred and Trump met, it did not disclose what the two discussed. Trump has previously criticized the league for refusing to admit Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame.

Dalton Rosta has arrived in PFL.
At 2025 PFL World Tournament 3, Rosta (10-1) made light work of 2022 welterweight champion Sadibou Sy. After a dominant first round, Rosta submitted Sy (17-9-2) with a D’Arce choke at 3:29 of Round 2. The bout took place in Orlando, Fla.
With the victory, Rosta advances to the middleweight tournament quarterfinal against Aaron Jeffery (16-5), who defeated Murad Ramazanov earlier on Friday’s card. Jeffery is the only man to hold a win over Rosta, who he defeated by unanimous decision under the Bellator banner in August 2023.
