Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Gavin Lux was carted off during a spring training game Monday after a non-contact injury.
While running to third base, Lux awkwardly planted his foot. He fell to the ground holding his knee. The injury happened during the sixth inning in a game against the San Diego Padres.
Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts and trainers quickly met Lux at the bag. When it was clear he couldn’t walk off on his own, they brought out the cart.

Western Michigan baseball had a very, very bad time against Northern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. The Broncos got run-ruled 27-4 in the third game of a three-game series in which they lost all three.
While a score of 27-4 is demoralizing in and of itself, the manner in which it occurred is even more so.
The Norse scored 14 runs in the first inning behind an incredibly rare feat from sophomore designated hitter Liam McFadden-Ackman. He hit not one, but two grand slams before Northern Kentucky recorded its third out of the game.

One of the most decorated college basketball players of the last decade is calling it a career.
Gonzaga forward Drew Timme will not exercise the extra year of eligibility allotted to him by the NCAA during the COVID-19 pandemic, he told Seth Davis of The Athletic in an article published Monday. The Richardson, Texas native will leave the Bulldogs after 2023.
“I’ve done my four years,” Timme said. “I’m a senior, and I’m moving on.

Tampa Bay’s ace can’t catch a break.
Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow suffered an oblique injury during a spring training practice Monday and is expected to miss the start of the 2023 MLB season. 
According to Mark Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Glasnow sustained the injury during a live batting practice session. Glasnow will reportedly undergo an MRI on Tuesday, though the Rays are anticipating he’ll be sidelined for Opening Day.

The AL MVP compared the new rule to something in a different sport.
As MLB gets used to implementing a pitch clock this spring, many players, coaches and fans are debating whether the new rule is good or bad for the game. One of the league’s biggest and brightest stars appears to be in favor of the clock.
Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge commented on the pitch clock, saying that it should be “a good thing for everybody.” In fact, he went as far as to compare it to a clock that a different sport is using.

Last week, Alabama freshman hoops star Brandon Miller dropped 41 points in an overtime win at South Carolina. In total, he scored 65 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while leading his team to two wins.
But he didn’t receive SEC Player of the Week or Freshman of the Week accolades. Instead, those went to Kentucky big man Oscar Tshiebwe and Arkansas freshman Nick Smith, Jr.
And some fans weren’t happy about it.
