PITTSBURGH (AP) — Cleveland’s Kyle Manzardo spoiled Paul Skenes’ bobblehead day, taking the young Pittsburgh Pirates ace deep in the Guardians’ 3-0 victory on Saturday.
Manzardo led off the seventh by taking the first pitch he saw from Skenes (2-2) and sending it over the right-field stands. The fifth home run of the season by Cleveland’s designated hitter landed 411 feet from home plate before bouncing into the Allegheny River.
Steven Kwan had two hits for the Guardians, including a run-scoring single off Skenes in the third. Nolan Jones also had two hits for Cleveland.

South Korean Kim Si-woo fired a five-under par 66 on Saturday to seize a one-shot lead over two-time major champion Justin Thomas and Andrew Novak after 54 holes at the US PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage in South Carolina.
Kim, a four-time PGA Tour winner, had six birdies through the first 15 holes, pushing his lead to as many as three before a bogey at the par-four 18th — where overnight leader Thomas birdied to pull within one.
“I played great,” Kim said.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Benjamin Cremaschi scored on a diving header in the 30th minute and Inter Miami beat the Columbus Crew 1-0 on Saturday.
The matchup between the lone remaining teams in Major League Soccer drew 60,614 fans to Huntington Bank Field, a single-game record for a Crew home game and the largest non-NFL event in stadium history.
The match was moved from Columbus to the home of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns due to the popularity of Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi.

The Mets (14-7) won their third straight game against the St. Louis Cardinals (9-12) with a clean 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon at Citi Field.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Audrey Davis posted a 9.9250 on the uneven bars in the final rotation on Saturday, and Jordan Bowers followed with a 9.8875 to help the Oklahoma Sooners win their seventh NCAA women’s gymnastics championship.
Oklahoma finished with 198.0125 points in their 11th trip to the Final Four in the last 12 seasons. UCLA — with eight national titles — placed second with 197.6125. Missouri (197.2500) was third and Utah (197.2375) fourth. The Tigers previous best finish was fifth in 2022.
