CHICAGO (AP) — Nikola Vucevic and Coby White each had 31 points, Josh Giddey had a triple-double and the post-season bound Chicago Bulls beat the Portland Trail Blazers 118-113 on Friday night.
Giddey had 15 points, 19 rebounds and 12 assists for his sixth triple-double of the season. The Bulls are 10th in the Eastern Conference, the lowest position they can finish.
Deni Avdija led Portland with 37 points. Coming off a victory in Toronto on Thursday night, the Trail Blazers went 2-3 on a five-game trip. They are 12th in the West.

I had a feeling that when news broke that the Great One was going to be in the house, something special was going to happen, and Alexander Ovechkin delivered the goods by scoring two goals to tie Wayne Gretzky for the NHL’s all-time goal-scoring lead at 894 goals each.
Ovechkin came into the night two off of Gretzky’s mark and three away from passing the record.
He had a good chance to do some scoring with the struggling Chicago Blackhawks, a team that came into the night having given up the third-most goals in the entire league.

BOSTON (AP) — Jaylen Brown scored 31 points and hit three 3-pointers and the Boston Celtics broke the NBA record for 3-pointers in a season in a 123-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
Boston was 14 of 39 from 3-point range to push its season total to 1,370. Golden State held the previous record with 1,363 in 2022-23.
After having their nine-game winning streak halted in their previous game, the Celtics coasted to the victory.
Jayson Tatum added 23 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
The Boston Celtics defeated the Phoenix Suns 123-103 at home Friday night. The Celtics are now 57-20 for the regular season, with just five games remaining before the playoffs begin.
The Suns were without Kevin Durant, a major blow to a mediocre offensive team fighting for its life in the West standings. Boston, meanwhile, was at full strength, and by the middle of the second quarter, the defending champions established a comfortable lead.
The Detroit Pistons have officially clinched an NBA playoff spot for the first time in six years.
Their road victory over the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena on Friday night guarantees the Pistons a top-six seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, which begin April 19. The Pistons will avoid the play-in tournament, which features the Nos. 7-10 seeds in each conference and takes place April 15-18.
