With speculation mounting about a return to the grid, Ricciardo shared his dream scenario
Every since Daniel Ricciardo joined Red Bull as a reserve driver for the 2023 Formula 1 season, speculation has grown about how — and with what team — Ricciardo could make a return to the grid.
That speculation grew recently when AlphaTauri rookie Nyck de Vries was given the “yellow card” from Helmut Marko, an advisor to Red Bull, about the driver’s poor form.

The opening act of the most noteworthy acquisition in Major League Soccer’s history reportedly has a target date.
Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi is aiming to make his debut on July 21 against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup, managing owner Jorge Mas told Michelle Kaufman of The Miami Herald and a group of reporters in a conversation reported Monday night.

The Hornets may not own the No. 1 pick, but Thursday’s NBA Draft essentially begins when they’re on the clock at No. 2.
It’s been a foregone conclusion for some time now that Victor Wembanyama will be the first player to hear his name called. When the draft lottery order was announced in mid-May, the Spurs were declared winners of the Wembanyama sweepstakes. But how the picks will unfold after he’s selected — and even the order in which those picks will be made — remains up in the air.

This makes too much sense not to happen.
Buckle up, because things are about to get wild. With the NBA Draft fast approaching it’s becoming increasingly possible that the Pelicans are ready to part ways with Zion Williamson. The once-franchise centerpiece is still one of the most exciting players in the league when healthy, but that simply doesn’t happen enough to get New Orleans to the next level.
It appears the team is looking for consistency and reliability moving forward, two things Zion doesn’t offer at this point.
Longtime MLB pitcher and former Rockies broadcaster George Frazier died at 68 years old Monday, the team announced that night. The Denver Post was first to report his death after a battle with an unspecified illness.
“We are deeply saddened at the passing of former Rockies color analyst, George Frazier,” the team wrote. “A retired MLB pitcher, George was a mainstay and the voice behind many classic calls on Rockies broadcasts from 1998 to ’15.
“For a generation of Rockies fans, George Frazier was synonymous with Rockies baseball,” the statement continued.
The No. 1 pick is a lock. But after Victor Wembanyama, the draft could go in several directions. Here’s the projected path based on the latest intel.
Yahoo Sports will update the latest mock draft heading into Thursday’s NBA Draft with the latest intel and trade news.
It is as time honored a seasonal tradition as the blooming of begonias and allium flowers: The NFL and its thirsty network of media partners are still trying to find someone to take on Hard Knocks. According to ProFootballTalk, the Commanders keep raising their hands, but even the most sadistic professional sports league on Earth isn’t willing to subject the viewing public to something so obviously horrendous.
It brings up an interesting question and follow-up question.
The 162-game Major League Baseball season is bound to produce its fair share of hilarious moments, and Reds pitcher Brandon Williamson delivered one for the books Monday night.
Not all pitchers are known for their ability to defend the position, and Williamson took that to a new level in the second inning of Monday’s matchup with the Rockies. Colorado catcher Elias Díaz popped one up directly to the mound, no more than a couple of steps from where Williamson landed.
Giants legend and Hall of Famer Willie Mays first became a star at Rickwood field, the oldest professional ballpark in the country.
