BYU basketball was consistently near the top of the West Coast Conference despite the fact that the Cougars have reached the NCAA Tournament just one time since 2015. They frequently won 20 games, or got close, and often played the spoiler as a sneaky upset team for the likes of Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s.
However, BYU is off to the Big 12. It will need more money to stay relevant in a new conference, in the era of Name, Image and Likeness. But just how much do the Cougars need?
BYU needs more money.

Why the Austrian Grand Prix could be a voyage of discovery for Haas
Guenther Steiner and Haas F1 know exactly what their problem is right now.
But finding a solution is the trickier part.
Throughout this 2023 season, Haas has been surprisingly strong on Saturdays, and their qualifying pace has been impressive. The most notable example came in the Canadian Grand Prix, when Nico Hülkenberg — thanks to a bit of luck with weather and a red flag — qualified on the front row.
Predictably, much has been made of the blockbuster trade that saw Chris Paul land with the Warriors last week. The 12-time All Star is now set to team up with some of his fiercest rivals and fans have questioned whether the group will mesh.
Paul cleared the air when it came to Stephen Curry and expressed his excitement regarding his new organization and teammates.
“Me and Steph known each other for a long time,” Paul said Monday during an appearance on ESPN’s NBA Today.
The deal made by Chicago’s former mayor to host the race was immediately met with skepticism. After this weekend, it could be cancelled altogether.

The White Sox have had a pretty miserable season and those bad vibes were on full display in Tuesday night’s loss to the Angels, which ended in embarrassing fashion for Chicago.
In case you missed it, the White Sox gave up the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth even though the Angels didn’t get a single hit in the final frame. Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani both walked and then both stole a base. Trout then raced home from third base on a wild pitch thrown by Aaron Bummer.

With the grid headed to Red Bull Ring, Alfa Romeo F1 believes bigger things are possible
Red Bull Ring is the next stop on the Formula 1 schedule, and between the characteristics of the circuit itself and the fact that this week is the second “Sprint Saturday” of the season, Alfa Romeo is going into the week expecting one thing.
Unpredictability.
Outside of being home to hundreds of NFL rumors and a place where founder Mike Florio can regurgitate liberal political talking points, Pro Football Talk was known for it’s incredibly basic layout and rather spicy comment section.
The website introduced its new design on Monday, and with the facelift came the removal of the comment section.
Pro Football Talk is by no means the only often-visited sports website to get rid of its comment section, but Florio’s explanation as to why it is no more is certainly interesting.
Derek Carr had plenty to say about his departure from the Raiders, but the general gist was simple—he didn’t want to just take his ball and go home.
The current Saints quarterback, who started 142 games over nine seasons for the Raiders, was benched and when the team had a 6–9 record with two home games remaining. The fact the Raiders still had an outside chance at the playoffs at that time only added to the controversial decision.
