The 15th hole at the Los Angeles Country Club measured 81 yards on Saturday, the shortest hole in U.S. Open history.
The 123rd U.S. Open at the Los Angeles Country Club marks the first time in 76 years that the championship features five par-3s.
Some of these iconic par-3s measure as long as 300 yards.
Yet, the little 15th is one of the shortest holes in major championship history.
For Saturday’s third round, the 15th officially claimed the record as the shortest hole in modern U.S. Open history at 81 yards.

What would you risk for the chance to meet soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo? I’m not sure about you, but I probably wouldn’t risk more than a few dollars, but one fan was willing to risk getting trucked by a security guard.
It happened during a qualifying match between Ronaldo’s Portuguese national team and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the match in Lisbon, a fan waving a red and green Portugues flag beelined it straight to Ronaldo and hugged him.

Former Cardinals standout and 2011 World Series hero David Freese issued a statement on Saturday after St. Louis announced he withdraw his candidacy for induction into the team’s Hall of Fame.
Freese, a member of the Cardinals from 2009 to ’13, will no longer be a part of the Class of the 2023 despite being elected on May 3 after receiving the most votes on the fan ballot. In the release, Freese apologized to the fans while explaining his decision came after reflecting on his time with the team, which the 40-year-old said “weighs heavily” on him.

A Cristiano Ronaldo supporter invaded the pitch during Portugal’s Euro qualification matchup against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday and shared a touching moment with his soccer hero.
The fan, who held a Portugal flag in his hand, raced onto the pitch and hugged Ronaldo, managing to lift him up in the process. The individual even got the 38-year-old star to participate in one of his iconic goalscoring celebrations before security arrived on the scene.

Former LSU Tigers coach Paul Mainieri, who won the 2009 national championship in his third season on the bayou, is expected to interview for the Miami job Saturday and/or Sunday, sources close to Mainieri confirmed to OutKick Saturday. OutKick reached Mainieri Saturday, but he had no comment.
