Faced with a potential franchise-altering decision of whether to keep or trade Zion Williamson, JJ Redick weighed in on what the Pelicans should do this offseason on Wednesday’s episode of First Take.
New Orleans has been heavily involved in trade rumors since reports surfaced that the organization has been attempting to move up into the top three of next week’s NBA draft, with eyes on G League Ignite point guard Scoot Henderson. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported on Get Up Wednesday the possibility that Williamson could be involved in a trade package around the draft.

A bizarre situation is unfolding in the Canadian Football League after an open tryout prompted questions and concerns. It revolves around the Edmonton Elks and dates back to April 29.
Former Texas punter Daniel Trejo, who began his career at Texas Wesleyan in 2017, started all 13 games for the Longhorns last season. He averaged 42 yards on his 45 punts in 2022, dropped 13 punts inside the 20-yard-line, posted a career-long of 61 yards, and exhausted his collegiate eligibility in Austin.
Trejo declared for the NFL Draft following his first and only year with Texas, but was not selected.

With this year’s OL Masterminds coming up, the group shared this honest assessment from Mark Schlereth from last year’s event about life in the trenches
Life as an NFL player is a year-round job.
There is no offseason. The offseason, as it were, is spent getting ready for the regular season. Sure players can find time for vacations, but if you are not devoting the bulk of your time to getting better at your craft, someone else will be. That might be a teammate looking to take your job, or an opponent getting ready to beat you on Sunday.
Lynn Williams is on a tear—and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Hitting her stride with her new NWSL club Gotham FC, Williams is making a compelling case for herself ahead of this summer’s World Cup. The star forward has six goals in 11 games (tied for second in the league), and with U.S. women’s national team coach Vlatko Andonovski emphasizing club performance in his roster decisions, it’s hard to imagine Williams missing the team’s July trip to Austria and New Zealand.
Netflix released the first trailer of its newest documentary, Quarterback, on Wednesday with a release date of July 12. The documentary features a behind-the-scenes look at the 2022 NFL season for Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota.
In the trailer, all three quarterbacks appear to be mic’d up during their games and were also followed in their personal, day-to-day lives. The video features Cousins reading to his son while Mahomes is spending some quality time with his daughter and wife as well.
Despite all playing the same position, each had a very different 2022.
Netflix dropped the trailer for ‘Quarterback’ — a mini-series following around some guys named Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota — Wednesday, and it’ll have you ready to run through a brick wall.
Well, at least when they show Mahomes highlights. Unsurprisingly, the Mariota stuff doesn’t exactly leave you fired up for football season.
The Cousins stuff, meanwhile, is hilarious. Kirk is very clearly the Michael Scott of this new sitcom.
Don’t take my word for it, though. Roll tape!
Mahomes. Cousins. Mariota. See the game from their side.
The Free Press posted an article Tuesday discussing the ascent of “blonde, girl-next-door” female college athletes who are making serious money thanks to name, image and likeness (NIL) deals.
The story was written by Ethan Strauss, a former basketball reporter for ESPN and The Athletic. The premise of the story is that attractive, blonde athletes seem to be landing major NIL deals regardless of performance in their sport.
As part of the story, Strauss interviewed Haley and Hanna Cavinder, who played for Miami’s women’s basketball team.

Fantasy baseball analyst Dalton Del Don exposes four misleading stats as we head through Week 11.
1. The nickname “Joe Cool” is so damn clichéd, but it really couldn’t fit any better for Joe Burrow.
The Bengals quarterback was asked Tuesday whether he was going to attend one of the upcoming Taylor Swift concerts in Cincinnati.
Unlike other NFL stars, such as Aaron Rodgers and J.J. Watt, who are confirmed Swifties, Burrow offered props to the pop sensation but kept it real.
“I have a lot of respect for what Taylor Swift has done with her career,” said Burrow. “I can’t say that I’m listening to too much Taylor Swift on the speakers in the headphones.
