Saùl “Canelo” Álvarez, the undisputed super middleweight champion and the U.S.’s most bankable boxing star, has agreed to a multifight deal with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), sources familiar with the deal told Sports Illustrated.
On Thursday, Álvarez (59-2-2) posted on his Instagram story, “Done Deal,” which was followed by a PBC logo.
Álvarez, who successfully defended his titles against John Ryder in May, will return to the ring in September, likely against middleweight titleholder Jermall Charlo.

Warriors fans kept the receipts after general manager Mike Dunleavy’s comments about Jordan Poole resurfaced.
Bronny James, the eldest son of Lakers star LeBron James, will begin his USC basketball tenure wearing the No. 6, just like his father.
For the reveal, the Trojans basketball account tweeted a picture of Bronny donning the cardinal-based jersey trimmed in gold along with his name “James Jr.” and the No. 6.
When LeBron entered the NBA in 2003, he wore the No. 23 for the Cavaliers. However, when James joined the Heat in free agency ahead of the 2010–11 season, he transitioned to No. 6.
In his return to Cleveland, James wore No.
The NHL has decided to end one of the biggest headaches of the 2022-23 NHL season, with the Commissioner announcing that teams will not wear pride jerseys next season.
Why? According to Bettman, they were a distraction.
The great irony here is that the folks who turned them into the distraction weren’t the players who chose not to wear them. Instead, it was the people who were irate about that decision.
The very people who obsessed over the Pride jerseys and demanded they be worn by every player, no questions asked, are the ones who led the board of governors to vore to end the practice.
Devin Sanchez can play anywhere in the country, but it doesn’t sound like he is going to stay in Texas. The five-star prospect is the No. 1-ranked defensive back in the Class of 2025.
There is still a very long way to go in his recruitment. He doesn’t have to sign his National Letter Intent until December of 2024, at the earliest, or could choose to wait until February of 2025.
Regardless of when Sanchez commits, the Houston-native has his pick of the litter.

McGuire, who is 28 years old, received a few short-game tips this season from the 51-year-old Harrington.
The luck of the Irish runs deep among those from the Emerald Isle.
For Leona McGuire, Ireland’s new star on the LPGA Tour, her luck stems from Padraig Harrington, the three-time major champion from Dublin.
On Thursday, the NCAA levied penalties against former LSU basketball coach Will Wade for his role in the program’s reported recruiting violations. But it also issued sanctions against the school’s football program by vacating all 37 wins for the team from 2012 to ’15 under former coach Les Miles.
The decision stems from impermissible benefits given to former Tigers offensive lineman Vadal Alexander, who received $180,150 from a booster who reportedly embezzled funds from a Baton Rouge children’s hospital, according to The Athletic‘s Stewart Mandel.
We know “Who’s On First?”
But “Who’s Pitching?”
At least, that is the silly game the Wake Forest and LSU coaches were playing going into Thursday night’s Game Of The Century at the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska (7 p.m., ESPN).
That century term is used a lot in college football, but this is truly a special and rare matchup at Charles Schwab Field, where a crowd of more than 25,000 is expected.
There have been only two No.

Rory McIlroy is coming off a tough pill to swallow at the U.S. Open, but appears to have put it behind him at the Travelers Championship.
Rory McIlroy enters the Travelers Championship in Connecticut as one of the favorites. That’s despite knowing how difficult it must be to get over the loss at the 2023 U.S. Open last week.
Clearly, the four-time major champion was able to move on and focus on the task at hand. During Thursday’s round at the Travelers, he posted a beautiful ace, sinking a hole in one on the 214-yard par-3 8th.
On Tuesday night, Elon Musk tweeted that he’d be “up for a cage match” fight against Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg responded on Wednesday, posting a screenshot of Musk’s tweet to his Instagram story with the caption, “send me location.”
According to Alex Heath of The Verge, Zuckerberg’s social media activity was not made in jest, and the 39-year-old is serious about the prospective cage match.
“I’ve confirmed that Zuckerberg’s post on his Instagram account is, in fact, not a joke, which means the ball is now in Musk’s court,” wrote Heath on Wednesday.
