PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan has had a stressful week. Seven days after announcing to the world that the Tour has agreed to a merger with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and, in turn, LIV Golf, Monahan has endured a “medical situation.”
The commissioner informed the PGA Tour Policy Board that he is currently “recuperating from a medical situation” and the day-to-day operations will be handed off to two other Tour employees.

The PAC-12 has a plan ready to roll if Colorado leaves the conference.
There’s been speculation for months that the Buffaloes are the most likely program to leave the PAC-12 for the Big 12 amid nonstop chaos and a lack of a new media deal.
Some reports have claimed it’s nearing the status of a done deal. While that certainly hasn’t been proven true, there’s plenty of smoke surrounding whatever might be happening in Boulder.
Now, it appears the PAC-12 already has a contingency plan in place.

Former Atlanta Falcons wideout Calvin Ridley saw the rough side of the NFL’s guidelines on gambling.
Though the NFL heavily promotes gambling to the audiences at home, the league holds a ‘no-nonsense’ policy concerning gambling activity among players.
As league employees and typically well-paid employees, NFL players are not allowed to partake in betting according to leaguewide guidelines.
In 2021, Calvin Ridley was caught gambling on games, and the league suspended the former All-Pro Bowl pick for an entire season. His case became an example to other athletes.

With the A’s relocation to Las Vegas all but assured, fans in Oakland have become increasingly vocal about their disgust with owner John Fisher and the rest of the team’s management. On Tuesday, their frustrations culminated in a creative show of protest with what the fan base dubbed a “reverse boycott.”
The idea for the demonstration was to pack the Oakland Coliseum—the A’s cavernous home for the past 55 years that routinely gets sparse visitors—with as many fans as possible as a way to show ownership that fan support was not the issue with the team.

From their very first season five years ago, the Golden Knights made it clear they would need no grace period from their inception to become championship contenders. On Tuesday night, the NHL’s second-youngest team took its turn in hoisting the Stanley Cup and clinching its first-ever title with Game 5’s 9–3 win over the Panthers.
