George Kittle is known for being one of the most easygoing players in the NFL. More often than not he’s smiling and dancing on the field, but that wasn’t the case after his team’s loss in the NFC Championship game on Sunday night.
The 49ers were struck with bad fortune early in the game when quarterback Brock Purdy had to leave the game with an elbow injury. This left San Francisco with Josh Johnson, the team’s fourth-string quarterback, under center. Johnson didn’t last long, however, as he was forced to leave the game with a concussion.

This week kicks off the official start to draft season, as NFL teams — and media — descend upon Mobile for the Senior Bowl, and upon Las Vegas for the Shrine Bowl.
The Green Bay Packers might be fully ready to move off Aaron Rodgers.
Once again, the NFL world is focused on Rodgers’ future and whether or not he’s played his last snap for the Packers.
A recent report seems to indicate the franchise is leaning heavily towards cutting him loose via a trade.

While it looked rough Sunday, it sounds like he might have avoided serious damage.

Super Bowl LVII is set.
So who is going to win?
The Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in just under two weeks out in Glendale, Arizona. Over the next two weeks, this game will be broken down from every angle, including here at SB Nation.
But let’s just cut to the chase. As we have done throughout the playoffs, we are ranking the two teams by their chances to win Super Bowl LVII, based on voting done by our entire NFL team.
An outcome on Sean Payton’s coaching future might be known in the coming days.
Payton was believed to be a top candidate for the Broncos, but so far, nothing has come together. A report from last week indicated Payton is actually struggling to land a second interview anywhere and the Broncos might have pivoted elsewhere.
Now, the Super Bowl champion coach has revealed a final decision on his future plan could be known at some point this week.

Philadelphia and Kansas City punched their tickets to Arizona on Sunday.
The stage for Super Bowl LVII is now officially set following Championship Sunday, with the Chiefs and Eagles punching their tickets for a shot at the Lombardi Trophy following wins over the Bengals and 49ers, respectively.
Super Bowl LVII will take place in Glendale, Arizona on Feb. 12, and mark the Chiefs’ third Super Bowl appearance in four seasons and the Eagles’s first appearance in five years.
Jimmy Garoppolo flashed a smile at a very unfortunate time Sunday against the Eagles.
The 49ers suffered a 31-7 blowout loss to Philadelphia in the NFC title game, and San Francisco was overwhelmed by injury issues. Brock Purdy got hurt, his backup Josh Johnson got hurt and then Purdy had to re-enter the game, despite not being able to throw.
With the team down 21-7 early in the third quarter, Garoppolo was picked up on camera grinning ear-to-ear.

After a day of NBA fans pretending like LeBron James‘ last-second foul on a layup attempt was going to get ignored by the Association, the referees union issued a statement to address the whole matter.

The missed foul call prompted the referees union to tweet a statement on Sunday, calling it a “gut-wrenching” omission.
Seriously, a lack of a foul call was … gut-wrenching.
“Like everyone else, referees make mistakes,” the National Basketball Referees Association tweeted.
