Hailey Van Lith and Team USA will return home with gold medals around their necks after an impressive run at the 3X3 Basketball World Cup. They won seven of their eight games and capped the tournament with a win over France on Sunday.
Van Lith, who recently transferred from Louisville to LSU, joined Stanford star Cameron Brink, USA Basketball veteran Linnae Harper, and three-time 3X3 World Cup participant Cierra Burdick to round out the four-player roster. They were coached by Connecticut Sun president Jennifer Rizzotti.
Team USA arrived in Austria at the end of May.
This is about as soft as it gets. During a women’s doubles match at the French Open, the chair umpire disqualified one team after one of the players accidentally hit a ball girl. The important point to note, though, is that the DQ came after their opponents essentially demanded they be disqualified.
The disqualified team comprised Miyu Kato and Aldila Sutjiadi.

Phil Mickelson has been on a tear on Twitter lately, throwing Rory McIlroy under the bus and now responding to fans in a way familiar to NBA fans.
Phil Mickelson has never been one to shy away from controversy. Since joining the LIV Tour, he has been relatively outspoken about his beliefs and intentions. But over the last couple of weeks, he has found himself creating a whirlwind of reactions.
His deal to say with Phoenix is worth more than $2 million per year, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
It’s always fun to see what NFL players think about their counterparts. They often rank players quite differently than the media. Texans rookie quarterback CJ Stroud is no exception. He thinks the top five QBs in the NFL are Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and … Justin Fields?
There’s no question that Mahomes, Burrow and Allen rank inside the Top 5. But not only does Stroud think that Hurts belongs in that group, he has the Eagles quarterback as the BEST in the league. That seems like … an overreaction.
Ever heard the story about the Big, Bad Wolf?
No, not that big, bad wolf.
I’m talking about the Kansas City Chiefs superfan who was arrested for (allegedly) robbing a bank in Oklahoma last December.
You know, this guy.

Xavier Michael Babudar — otherwise known as “ChiefsAholic” — skipped his scheduled court date in March. So the accused bank-robbing, Chiefs-living, wolf man is on the run.
And now, the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers added Babudar to their list of most wanted fugitives.
Campbell baseball has been on an absolute tear in recent years. The Camels have received a postseason bid in each of the last four years and returned again as a No. 2 seed in 2023.
A new tradition plays an undeniable role in their success.
Campbell University, which went 44-13 during the regular season and Big South conference tournament, is located in Buies Creek, North Carolina, about an hour outside of Raleigh. It was placed in the South Carolina Regional and traveled 200 miles southeast for the weekend.
Before coming to the NBA with unreal expectations, Victor Wembanyama looks to add to his impressive résumé in France’s top pro league. The projected No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA draft and his team, Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92, beat Lyon-Villeurbanne on Sunday to advance to the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) Finals.
Wembanyama tallied 15 points in the 71–69 victory, along with seven rebounds and five blocks, in the standout performance. One of those rejections was a crucial one while his team had a three-point advantage with less than a minute to go in regulation.

Scottie Scheffler, world number one, is having an extraordinary final round at The Memorial, moving up the leaderboard.
Scottie Scheffler entered The Memorial Tournament as the world’s number one ranked player, according to the Official World Golf Rankings. He has been on a tear this year, despite his struggles with the putter.
Those struggles on the greens came to the forefront this week, which saw Scheffler just barely make the cut. But he appears to have found his game just in time to make a run.
