The budding relationship between Jets quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Zach Wilson appears to clicking on all cylinders despite signs pointing in the opposite direction prior to the former MVP’s arrival.
Back in early January, Wilson, following a poor second NFL season, went viral when asked about the possibility of New York adding a veteran QB in the offseason.
“I’m going to make that dude’s life hell in practice every day,” Wilson told the world on Jan. 9 as rumors persisted about whom the Jets might acquire.

Aaron Rodgers brings up some past comments from new teammate Zach Wilson at practice Friday
The New York Jets drafted Zach Wilson at No. 2 overall in 2021 to be the team’s franchise quarterback. By the end of his second season, it was already obvious Wilson was never going to be that. Through his first two seasons, Wilson has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns and was never able to earn the respect of his teammates. That’s why the Jets made a bold trade to acquire Aaron Rodgers in the offseason.
In the summer of 2007, Jimmy Butler got out of a car at a Chevron station north of Houston for nothing more than the promise of a chance. He had a high school degree, solid grades and test scores, and no plan for college other than what he told his driver, Alan Branch: “Whoever will take me. Wherever I get a chance.”
Branch, who ran a Texas high school scouting service, pulled out of the Chevron. He believed in Butler for reasons that were hard to explain, which may be why all the college coaches he lobbied said no.
