Here are our 10 biggest takeaways from the new NBA season so far.
The 2024-25 NBA season is underway, and it’s already proven to be full of surprises.
The Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks were supposed to be fringe championship contenders, but so far both are among the worst teams in the league. The Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves were supposed to be the class of the West, but right now they’re stuck in the middle of the conference standings.

When can Jets move on from Aaron Rodgers’ contract?
The New York Jets are suffering through another abysmal season, but this time it was supposed to be different. This time the Jets had former league MVP Aaron Rodgers, but it’s still been terrible. Offensive coordinator Nate Hackett was demoted, then head coach Robert Saleh was fired, but the Jets are still 3-7 and two games out of the final Wild Card spot.
Rodgers has gone 33 consecutive starts without throwing for 300 yards dating back to his time in Green Bay with the Packers.
Flying with golf clubs is a nightmare. Not only do most airlines charge you to check your golf bag, you’re constantly stressed out about your clubs from the moment you drop them off with a stranger until they’re back in your hands at your destination. Then, the stress sets back in when you open up your travel bag to see whether or not the airline may have damaged your equipment.
For LPGA Tour player Jennifer Chang, the nightmare scenario unfolded, and the airline did in fact damage her equipment.

What can we expect from the rookie QBs for the rest of the season?
I was excited to write my mid-season fantasy breakdown and rest-of-season (ROS) rankings column on the rookie quarterbacks, but then they put up a collective stinker on Sunday. Check that—Bo Nix was OK (16.1 fantasy points), but Drake Maye (12.8), Jayden Daniels (8.6), and Caleb Williams (6.

Signature Event spots and PGA Tour memberships for 2025 are on the line during the FedEx Cup Fall’s final two weeks.
Austin Eckroat picked up his second career PGA Tour victory at the World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico, as he made 11 birdies during Sunday’s final round to win by one.
But luckily for him, Eckroat has no worries about his status for 2025.

Fran Harris — a decorated basketball player and entrepreneur — is working to bring the WNBA to Austin, Texas.
Fran Harris knows the city of Austin quite well. It’s where she’s spent most of her adult life, and where she won an NCAA championship as a basketball star at the University of Texas.
Now, the decorated athlete and entrepreneur hopes that the up-and-coming Texan city will serve as the home of the next WNBA expansion franchise.
The Detroit Lions cooked Ryan Clark after beating the Houston Texans.
The Lions pulled off an impressive comeback victory Sunday night to beat the Texans 26-23 to improve to 8-1 on the season.
Dan Campbell has his squad rolling……and the Lions also made sure to save some receipts.
Prior to the Lions pulling off the awesome comeback victory, ESPN personality Ryan Clark declared Texans running Joe Mixon and his fantasy owners were “bout to have a night!”
Mixon finished the game with 46 rushing yards on 25 carries with one touchdown. He averaged just 1.
A Miami player behaved like a clown after losing to Georgia Tech.
The Yellow Jackets pulled off an incredible 28-23 upset of the Hurricanes this past weekend to hand Mario Cristobal’s team their first loss of the season.
It was an awesome game, and a great reminder of just how chaotic college football can be at its core. Unfortunately for one Miami player, his temper boiled over and he took things a bit too far.
Barstool Sports shared a viral video on X of a Georgia Tech fan having his phone ripped from his hand and tossed across the field by a Miami player.
