USC quarterback Caleb Williams has to navigate a ton of hype entering the 2023 season. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is projected by many to become the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, and he is considered by some to be one of the best prospects in NFL history.
With that in mind, some observers wonder whether and NFL teams might decide to tank and improve their chance of drafting Williams. When asked about the possibility of teams possibly trying to lose on purpose to acquire his rights, Williams deftly sidestepped the controversial topic.

The Formula 2 Monaco Grand Prix nearly resulted in tragedy Sunday when driver Victor Martins almost ran over a race marshal.
The incident occurred when Jack Doohan’s car caught fire after 22 laps. Several marshals went out on track to help put out the flames.
A double yellow flag was waved, but Martins didn’t slow down. He zoomed around the wreckage — narrowly missing one marshal by just inches.

The Monaco Grand Prix has a reputation for being a bit of a snooze fest. This is unless neither nature comes in and helps out a little bit.
That’s what happened this year, as some rain late in the race led to a frenzy of pit stops, tire gambles and cars in the finding barriers.
However, it was going to take a lot more than a drizzle to keep Red Bull’s Max Verstappen from winning his second Monaco Grand Prix. The Dutchmen led the race from lights to flag, even if at times it looked like Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was in striking distance of a shock victory.
The Celtics needed every split second of Game 6 to come out victorious against the Heat, as Derrick White hit a buzzer-beating putback with 0.1 seconds left.
But observers on social media noticed that it appears as if officials gave Boston too much time with a pivotal clock reset.
With Boston leading 102-100 in the final seconds, Al Horford fouled Jimmy Butler in the act of shooting beyond the three-point line, giving Miami a chance to take the lead. The referees reviewed the play to see where Butler’s feet were relative to the arc and to make sure they set the clock correctly.
“The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” is upon us. It’s race day in Indianapolis, where Alex Palou is the favorite and Marcus Ericsson is the defending champ.

Doing it live for the crown jewel of the F1 season
If Sunday’s 2023 Monaco Grand Prix is half as thrilling as Saturday’s qualifying session, then F1 fans will be in for a treat.
While that may not exactly come to fruition, giving the layout of the circuit and the lack of overtaking in the Grand Prix each year, Monaco is known for uncertainty. Weather, red flags, and more can all play a role, and there have been some races where the uncertainty created opportunities for drivers at the back of hte field.
Pretty much everyone watching the Celtics–Heat game Saturday night believed Miami was heading to the NBA Finals after Boston guard Marcus Smart missed a three-point shot in the final seconds of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals.
So, when Derrick White put an offensive rebound in the basket with 0.1 seconds left, forcing a Game 7, it happened so quickly that it fooled many people, including TNT’s graphic specialists.
As time expired, TNT’s score bug showed Miami as a 103-102 winner, and included the phrase “MIA Wins Series 4-2.
On Sunday, a long Premier League season, one interrupted by the drama of a winter World Cup, comes to an end.
Manchester City already has been crowned champion for the fifth time in six years after a strong push from Arsenal, which sat atop the Premier League table for much of the season before a late-season decline.
Even with the title decided, there are plenty of fireworks left for the grand finale, especially when it comes to the relegation race.
Shilo Sanders, the middle son of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, is following his dad to Boulder. Sanders announced Saturday night that he is transferring from Jackson State to Colorado for the 2023 college football season.
The 23-year-old safety began his career at South Carolina in 2019 and ’20, before spending the past two seasons with his father at Jackson State. While with the Tigers, Sanders played in 20 games, totaling 59 tackles with five interceptions and two forced fumbles, earning a second-team All-SWAC selection in 2021.
We’ve all been there.
Sitting at a well-decorated round table, huddled around a phone, watching a game at a wedding. Because some couple wasn’t courteous enough to plan the biggest day of their lives around the schedule of important sporting events.
Rude.
But at least this Miami bride and groom seemed to care about Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals just as much as their guests did.
In fact, when the buzzer sounded, the reception hall lit up with disco lights, the fog machine went off and a man in a suit ran onto the dance floor waving a Miami Heat flag.
