We thought Chargers vs. Jaguars would be the best game of Wild Card weekend. It was somehow better than we expected.
On Saturday night, the Jacksonville Jaguars posted the third-largest comeback in the history of the NFL playoffs after making up for a 27-0 Los Angeles Chargers lead. The rollercoaster of a game was not only defined by the tale of two halves that Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence posted but also by two crucial moments in the game that kept the momentum — and the home crowd — pushing Jacksonville through the comeback.

The redshirt sophomore offensive lineman was 20 years old.
Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and Bulldogs staff member Chandler LeCroy were killed in a car accident early Sunday morning in Athens, Georgia. Two other passengers connected to the program were injured, the school confirmed. Willock was 20 years old.
“The entire Georgia family is devastated by the tragic loss of football student-athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy,” the school said in a statement. “Two other members of the football program were injured in the accident.
Some may have gotten a chuckle out of the notion that former Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury plans to live it up in Thailand or wherever on Michael Bidwill’s money, while also ignoring opportunities to go to work for another team as an offensive coordinator. Bidwill may be laughing for a different reason.
The broadcaster’s energy as Jacksonville closed out a historic comeback left a lot to be desired.
Play-by-play broadcaster Al Michaels made a special return to NBC on Saturday night alongside Tony Dungy for an AFC wild-card thriller between the Jaguars and the Chargers. Jacksonville mounted the third-largest comeback in NFL playoff history, capping off a 31–30 victory at home with a 36-yard field goal off the foot of kicker Riley Patterson.
Lamar Jackson will miss his sixth consecutive game.
When the Ravens play the Bengals on Sunday night, they will be doing so without Lamar Jackson, as the star quarterback will miss his sixth consecutive game with a knee injury.
Instead, Baltimore will have Tyler Huntley back from a knee injury, and rookie Anthony Brown also will be active following his first career start last week. While the Ravens have yet to announce their starter, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the team plans to use both quarterbacks against Cincinnati.

Imagine, for a moment, you are Trevor Lawrence.
In your first NFL playoff game, you manage to shrug off four first-half interceptions by throwing four touchdowns — three in the second half — to help the Jacksonville Jaguars overcome a 27-7 halftime deficit.
The Edmonton Oilers capped off their four-game road trip with a huge 4-3 victory in Vegas over the Golden Knights on Saturday night.
The Miami Dolphins are reportedly sticking with Tua Tagovailoa under center next season.
The former Alabama sensation has had his ups and downs throughout his career in Miami, but when healthy, he’s shown some impressive flashes.
Miami has apparently seen enough to believe he can keep improving because the Dolphins are expected to keep him as the team’s starting QB in 2023, according to ESPN.

The Dolphins are sticking with Tua Tagovailoa.
Tua has just one year left on his rookie deal.
Don’t jump with Ja Morant. You’ll end up all over the internet if you do.
Pacers forward Jalen Smith learned that lesson the hard way on Saturday night. The 6-foot-9, 215-pound 22-year-old was on the wrong end of Morant’s wrath and went insanely viral for all of the wrong reasons.
Late in the third quarter against Indiana, Morant had the ball with seven seconds left on the shot clock and decided to take it to the rim himself, so he did. The Memphis star shook Oshae Brissett at the three-point line, drove freely through the lane and went up.
Tua Tagovailoa is expected to return as the Miami Dolphins’ starting quarterback for the 2023 season, ESPN reported early Sunday morning.
