It’s a big weekend of sports in Indianapolis this weekend. The Indiana Pacers host Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday, while earlier in the day, the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is set to take place.
But on Saturday, it was all about Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, who played host to the defending WNBA champs, the New York Liberty.

UCLA senior Kobe Johnson said this week that he is enjoying the NBA predraft process and is eager to prove himself to teams in private workouts against his peers.
Johnson was a Big Ten All-Defensive team selection this past season, averaging 7.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals on 36.2% shooting from 3-point range. He ranked 19th in the country in defensive box plus-minus (plus-5.0).
The 6-foot-6 guard participated in the G League Elite Camp last week, averaging nine points and 3.5 rebounds in two scrimmage games.

IBJJF champion Renato Canuto showed he has more than submissions during his MMA debut.
Canuto (1-0) didn’t clock in much time to pick up his first professional win Thursday as he ran through opponent Corey Stewart (0-3) at Tuff-N-Uff 144 at Observatory North Park in San Diego. The TKO stoppage came 51 seconds into the fight.

The 2025 NBA Western Conference finals feature the Oklahoma City Thunder traveling to Target Center to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. The Thunder leads the series 2-0.
The Thunder defeated the Timberwolves 118-103 in Game 2 in Oklahoma City. The NBA’s MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, scored 38 points, while Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren contributed a combined total of 28 points.
The Thunder’s defense was impressive in Game 2.

NBC inked a new broadcast rights deal with the NBA last July, and is looking to make a splash in its coverage by adding an NBA legend to its broadcast team.
Earlier this month, NBC announced that six-time NBA champion and five-time Most Valuable Player Michael Jordan will join the broadcast team as a “special contributor.” How exactly will MJ contribute to NBC’s NBA coverage? The Indianapolis 500 has been held almost every year since 1911. During that time, it’s crowned numerous legends in the motor sports world. Despite its lengthy existence though, we’ve never seen anyone win more than four times.
That could change this year though. Helio Castroneves won his fourth Indy 500 in 2021, 12 years after his third victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He also has two runner-up finishes, a third-place finish, and in 2024, he finished in 20th place.

Somehow, we’re already nearly two months into the 2025 Major League Baseball season. With most teams having played at least 50 games, it’s longer “early,” meaning those at the top and bottom of the standings are looking towards July and the trade deadline.
This season, like in 2024, could be quieter around the deadline due to a lack of high-profile free agents to be. Along with the fact that several of those upcoming free agents are on teams in the thick of the postseason race, making trades unlikely.

Former NFL player Ryan Clark issued an apology to Robert Griffin III for bringing his wife into a debate about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark earlier this week.
Griffin said in a social media post that Reese “hates” Clark. Following the post, Clark suggested that RG3 is “not having conversations at home about what Black women have to endure in this country,” considering his wife is White.
“All of it started over an Angel Reese take that he felt was a sports take that I didn’t feel that way about.
