A trans-identifying male took home two first-place medals from the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) girls’ track and field finals on Saturday.
AB Hernandez of Jurupa Valley High School won first place in both the Womens Division 3 Long Jump and Triple Jump events. Hernandez is now ranked No. 1 in the state in the Triple Jump heading into the state championship meet May 31.
Behind Hernandez in second place in the Triple Jump was Crean Lutheran female jumper Reese Hogan, who set both a personal record and a school record at 37 feet, 2 inches.

The Thunder pulled to a strong win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, locking up Game 7 with a 125-93 win in Oklahoma City. The Nuggets had forced a Game 7 after a key win in Denver on Thursday, but OKC dominated Denver across the board to pick up the series win and advance to the next round.
Although the Nuggets took an early lead in the first quarter, but the Thunder’s surging defense led Oklahoma City to take the lead in the second.

LOS ANGELES — Chris Taylor was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday to clear a roster spot for utilityman Tommy Edman, who was activated off the injured list and was in the starting lineup for the series finale against the Los Angeles Angels.
Taylor, who played all three outfield spots and second base this season, is owed $13,435,484 from a four-year, $60 million contract he agreed to ahead of the 2022 season. He is due the remaining $9,435,484 of his $13 million salary this season and a $4 million buyout of a 2026 club option.
