Tom Brady will soon be an NFL owner after reaching a deal to purchase part of the Raiders.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion retired after this past season, and all signs point to him eventually heading to the booth to work NFL games for Fox.
However, he decided cashing in from the booth wasn’t enough to keep him busy in retirement. The former Bucs and Patriots star has reached a deal with Raiders owner Mark Davis to buy a minority share of the team, according to Albert Breer.
There’s no concrete timeline for when the deal will be finalized, but the process is underway.

Are more suspensions on the way? The NFL is investigating another potential wave of violations.
Charles Barkley wasn’t about to let Gabe Vincent compliment the Celtics.
The Miami Heat are running the Boston Celtics out of the gym in the Eastern Conference Finals with a supporting cast around star wing Jimmy Butler that mostly consists of undrafted players who are playing like All-Stars right now. One of the breakout stars of the Heat’s playoff run has been Gabe Vincent, a 26-year-old guard who has never averaged double-figure points in his career but is suddenly Miami’s third leading scorer in the postseason.
Team USA 12U baseball is a wagon. This next wave of young sluggers have been on a roll in 12U World Cup Qualifying, even when the umpiring is questionable.
The most recent incident, which took place over the weekend, serves as a great reminder to every baseball player out there — always be sure to touch home plate definitively and confidently. Leave no doubt.
Unfortunately, 12U second baseman Greyson Wuis left some doubt. Fortunately, it didn’t matter.
Team USA faced Venezuela on Saturday in a ridiculously high-scoring matchup of two historically high-powered offenses.
It’s difficult to think Jimmy Butler’s playoff run can get much more impressive. The Heat forward is averaging 29.9 points per game and has guided No. 8-seed Miami to a 3-0 lead over the Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals.
However, what takes this run to the next level is the fact that Butler appeared to predict it.
Last season, after the Heat lost to Boston in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals as a No. 1 seed, Butler all but guaranteed that Miami would win the East this season.
The NFL’s inexorable march toward the 2023 regular season is taking another step this week with 20 teams starting the Organized Team Activities (OTA) portion of their offseason.
That means full teams on the field practicing offense versus defense, albeit in shorts with no hitting.
“Chance to go full speed, chance to compete a little bit more,” Carolina coach Frank Reich told reporters after the Panthers got off the field Monday.
And, of course, the focus in Charlotte is on Bryce Young. Because he’s the quarterback. He was the first overall draft pick.
The Wanamaker Trophy, awarded to the PGA Championship winner each year, is one of the largest trophies in sports. While it’s known by most for its stature and ability to hold a number of adult beverages, David Feherty knows it as something else: a seat.
The longtime golf commentator joined ‘Don’t @ Me With Dan Dakich‘ on Monday morning to discuss Brooks Koepka’s win over the weekend at Oak Hill and the topic of the Wanamaker came up.

Brittney Griner is back in WNBA, and she is playing as well as ever
After being detained in a Russian prison for over nine months, Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner is back in the WNBA and playing as well as ever. Despite an 0-2 start for the Mercury, Griner is putting up big numbers and maintaining her status as one of the best players in the world.
Through two games, Griner is sixth in the WNBA in scoring, averaging 22.5 points per game and is averaging eight rebounds per game through the first couple of games in the 2023 season.
Now, a word about the state of starting pitching: abysmal.
Injuries, six-man rotations and the curtailing of workloads are continuing a decade-long trend of sapping the glamour out of the role, not to mention the effectiveness.
As former GM and pitcher Ed Lynch likes to say, pitcher is the only position in sports for which we build a literal pedestal. For many years the biggest draw to sell tickets was simply the starting pitching matchup. Now, starting pitching is increasingly a losing proposition.
Carmelo Anthony’s retirement announcement on Monday has the basketball world expressing its appreciation for his impressive career.
Kevin Durant joined that party in a way only Durant could, popping on Instagram to roast his former Team USA teammate. Durant shared two pictures of himself playing against Anthony during his prime with the Knicks, labeling one, with Anthony defending him, as a foul and the other, with him defending Anthony, as an offensive foul. He also threw in a screenshot of an old Instagram comment in which Anthony jokingly called Durant a “milk dud head a–.
