Rory McIlroy may be a co-founder of the new TGL simulator golf league, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to being called out by his own product, apparently.
McIlroy’s Boston Common team fell to New York Golf Club on Monday night, and in the middle of the match, the four-time major winner was faced with about a five-to-six-footer to save par, but couldn’t even manage to hit the hole as he missed the putt on the low side.

Tee Higgins and Trey Smith are the first two players to receive the franchise tag
With the 2025 Scouting Combine behind us, the next big step in the NFL offseason is free agency.
Tuesday marks the next big deadline, as teams have until 4:00 p.m. Eastern to designate Franchise or Transition Tag players. That deadline comes ahead of the league’s official tampering period, which begins on March 10.
Here at SB Nation we are tracking it all, including the players that have received the franchise tag.
The deadline for NFL teams to designate franchise or transition tags on pending unrestricted free agents is 4 p.m. on Thursday and that should mean a lot for quarterback Sam Darnold.
Because if he is not tagged by the deadline, he will instantly become the most coveted unrestricted free agent quarterback this offseason and the target of either the Minnesota Vikings on a long-term deal or a number of other teams that need a starting quarterback for 2025 and beyond.
It’s unlikely the Vikings will use the tag on Darnold because it would cost upwards of $40 million.
On Monday, a bill (HF 12) came up for a vote in the Minnesota House of Representatives. The bill, aptly titled “Preserving Girls’ Sports Act”, sought to have the state come into compliance with President Donald Trump’s recent executive order that keeps males out of women’s sports.
The bill was brought by Rep. Peggy Scott who said, “It’s called common sense. The girls in my school never had to consider the injustice of a male taking our place on the team, or the prospect of serious injury that could come while competing against a stronger, bigger male.
