The Philadelphia Flyers spent much of this season sitting in the third spot in the Metropolitan Division, but now they might be lucky to make the postseason.
The Flyers are in the Eastern Conference’s second wildcard spot but are dealing with a five-game losing skid. Sure, that streak started against powerhouse teams like the Panthers and Bruins, but they also lost to basement dwellers in the Canadiens and Blackhawks.

Caitlin Clark recorded 41 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds Monday night when she led Iowa past LSU to advance to the Final Four.
Her performance surprised former NBA player Paul Pierce. He never expected to see a “white girl in Iowa” outplay black girls on the court.
“She didn’t do this to some other little white girls in Colorado,” said Pierce on FS1. “She did this to some black girls from LSU. I didn’t expect that.”
Translation: Pierce views “little white girl” as inherently inferior to black girls.
Have a couple of fantasy baseball teams but are unsure how to keep them strong and winning now that the season has started? Don’t worry — Scott Pianowski has your back.
An idiot fan decided to jump over a barricade, hop into a wrestling ring and begin fighting one of the wrestlers!
Probably not the best or brightest idea (shocking!) because the fan would then proceed to get the crap kicked out of him before then getting choked out!

The Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday confirmed that offensive coordinator Wes Phillips has begun serving a suspension tied to his December arrest on DWI charges.
The three-week suspension without pay will conclude April 22, so Phillips will be able to return to work April 23.
And while that means Phillips will miss portions of the team’s draft preparation, the suspension will not affect his on-field coaching duties to any degree.
So, as uncomfortable suspensions without pay may be, this one is so far quite convenient for Phillips.

Competing in the McDonald’s All-American Game is a right of passage for the basketball stars of the future. While the game itself often takes on the feel of an All-Star Game as an exhibition meant to excite the fans, the practices and scrimmage leading up to the big event are historically much more competitive and offer a better evaluation setting before the top prospects in the country jump to the next level.

UConn is rolling. Now Caitlin Clark awaits in the Final Four.
Paige Bueckers finds herself in the same position as everyone else in the 2024 women’s NCAA tournament: Playing second fiddle to Caitlin Clark. While Clark is getting all the press, leading reports on ESPN, and being credited with revolutionizing women’s basketball, Bueckers is writing another incredible chapter in her own story, one that could turn her into the household name of 2025.
There’s been no shortage of discussion around how brilliant Bueckers is.
Duke falling to North Carolina State in the Elite 8 generated some big TV ratings.
The Wolfpack stunned the college basketball world by advancing to the Final Four as 11-seed after knocking off the Blue Devils 76-64.
It was a hell of a game, and the ratings prove that America was captivated and paying attention to NC State’s epic run.
The game drew an average audience of 15.41 million on CBS Sunday as the country watched DJ Burns and company go to work against arguably the most hated program in college basketball history.
