Bryan Danielson.
Kazuchika Okada.
Two of the greatest wrestlers in the world, separated by different promotions—and different continents.
Long a dream match, the prospects of the two facing off appeared improbable. Danielson starred for WWE as Daniel Bryan, and the only way he was squaring off against Okada was if WWE lured him away from New Japan Pro-Wrestling. That, clearly, was simply an unrealistic proposition.
Mounting injuries then forced Danielson to retire in 2016. Okada focused his time and energy on redefining brilliance in the ring.

Hiroshi Tanahashi is getting ready for the summer, which he plans on spending as AEW world champion.
One of the most decorated champions in all of wrestling, Tanahashi has worn New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s IWGP heavyweight championship a record eight times. Now he is seeking his first reign as AEW champion. He lost in a match against Jon Moxley last year for the belt, but will get a second chance Sunday at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view against reigning champ MJF.
“I feel very honored to challenge for the AEW title,” says Tanahashi, speaking through a translator.

Taylor Silverman will join Riley Gaines to protest Austin Killips competing in the women’s division of the 2023 USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships Sunday.
Killips — a biological male —has been stealing podium spots and prize money from female athletes since he decided to compete in women’s events last year.
“I hope that UCI and USA Cycling hears us and decides to change the rules that currently allow male athletes like Killips to compete in the women’s division because it’s simply unfair,” Silverman said.

Bust. It’s the dirtiest four-letter word in fantasy football.
Fantasy managers who drafted players such as Russell Wilson, Jonathan Taylor and Deebo Samuel last season know the term (and its consequences) all too well. Selecting a bust, especially in the earlier rounds of your draft, can be detrimental to your chances of fielding a true fantasy league postseason contender.

Cory Sandhagen defeated Chito Vera in March. The win was dominant, displaying that Sandhagen is a legitimate contender for the bantamweight title.

As the A’s appear destined to leave Oakland for Las Vegas after failing to reach a new stadium deal, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred was widely criticized for comments made about the team’s fan base following the reverse boycott conducted at a game last week.
The reverse boycott by A’s fans led to 28,000 strong showing up to Tuesday, Jun 13. game against the Rays. Manfred, who was asked about the boycott, responded with snarkiness.
“It was great,” Manfred said last week.

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco was benched from Thursday night’s game because he is not a nice person.
Yes, like something out of Little League, Rays manager Kevin Cash said that he benched Franco to teach him a lesson about being kinder to his peers.
Cash told reporters that the shortstop had been told “multiple times that the way he [Franco] has handled his frustrations have not been the way that we ask our players to uphold being the best teammate.
