At the centre of that uncertainty stands Micky Van de Ven.
As Makai Lemon joins the Philadelphia Eagles, the main offseason topic in the City of Brotherly Love is new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who replaced Kevin Patullo in the offseason. Strickland is getting the same accusations hurled at him that
he aimed at Khamzat
Chimaev.
Strickland (30-7) will challenge Chimaev (15-0) for the
Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight title in the main
event at
UFC 328 on May 9 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
There is serious bad blood between Strickland and Chimaev from
their days training together at
Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts.
Strickland recently accused Chimaev of bullying average fighters in
the gym. Strickland claims he always wants to test himself against
the best fighters he’s surrounded by.
MORRISTOWN, N.J. – UFC 328 takes place Saturday at Prudential Center in Newark with a card that streams on Paramount+.
Before fight night arrives, though, notable athletes from the card, including headliners Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland and Joshua Van vs. Tatsuro Taira, are scheduled to speak to reporters Wednesday at media day from the host hotel, and MMA Junkie will have a live stream beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT.

Opportunities come and go quickly in the NFL.

Strickland (30-7 MMA, 17-7 UFC) is a big underdog in Saturday’s UFC 328 (Paramount+) main event against middleweight champion Chimaev (15-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion Pereira has trained with Strickland in the past, and the pair linked up at the UFC Performance Institute recently.
“Before our fight, I saw him differently,” Pereira said of Strickland on UFC Countdown.
