Rick Pitino’s return to Madison Square Garden as coach of St. John’s was highly anticipated. Unfortunately for the Red Storm and their fans, Michigan spoiled Pitino’s celebrated home debut with a decisive 89–73 victory on Monday night.
The Wolverines’ backcourt of point guard Dug McDaniel and transfer Nimari Burnett combined for 47 points. St. John’s had no answer on defense, which Pitino expressed surprise about after the game.
“What we didn’t expect was to get dominated by their point guard the way he dominated us tonight,” said Pitino, per Fox Sports’ John Fanta.

Patrick Mahomes showed off some of his incredible game knowledge during his appearance on ESPN’s Manningcast during the Broncos–Bills clash on Monday night.
Speaking with Peyton and Eli Manning, Mahomes stunned viewers at home by expertly predicting the exact sequence of plays Denver would use in order to score its first touchdown of the game.
When the Broncos got within striking distance of the end zone, Mahomes forecasted that the team would run the ball twice before executing a play-action pass to put six points on the board.

A group of UCLA recruits currently attending high school were named as suspects in the infamous locker room heist during Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes’ visit to the Rose Bowl on Oct. 28.
Colorado players cried foul after discovering their locker room had been raided following a 28-16 loss to UCLA.
Students from Beaumont High School in Riverside County, 80 miles east, were named suspects in the planned robbery that resulted in the stolen Buffaloes. No arrests have been made as a juvenile unit handles the case with an ongoing investigation.

The Wizards are the Basketball Gods’ attempt at prop comedy.
The Washington Wizards haven’t had a lot of success to celebrate this year, but appeared to be well on their way to earning their third victory of the season on Monday night. Up by 23 points at one point in the second half, and ultimately led by a team-high 34 points from starting forward Kyle Kuzma, the team on paper appeared to have the recipe to cruise to an easy win.
Ultimately, though, you probably know from the headline above that’s… not how things played out.

The strong connection between Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and receiver Courtland Sutton was again on display in Week 10 as the tandem produced more fireworks in primetime against the Bills.
With Denver leading, 3–0, midway through the second quarter, Wilson and the Broncos faced a daunting fourth-and-2 in the red zone. Denver’s decision to go play-action left Wilson scrambling to evade pressure from Bills pass rusher Shaq Lawson while looking toward the end zone.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made an appearance on ESPN’s Manningcast during Monday Night Football in Week 10.
While the Bills and Broncos battled it out on the field, Mahomes was chopping it up with Peyton and Eli Manning on ESPN2’s alternate broadcast. During his appearance, the topic of one of the quarterback’s bizarre gameday superstitions came up.
Back in February, Mahomes’s former backup Chad Henne claimed that Mahomes wore the same pair of red underwear during every single game.

Two years ago, ESPN introduced viewers to the “ManningCast.” It’s an alternate broadcast of Monday Night Football featuring Peyton and Eli Manning. But, people aren’t tuning in like they used to. So, the show invited the biggest star in the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, onto the show.
As I wrote last week, the ManningCast is losing badly to the Joe Buck and Troy Aikman version of Monday Night Football.
Part of the problem is that they keep inviting people on the show who don’t really have anything to do with football.

This touchdown in Broncos-Bills has to be seen to be believed
Midway through the second quarter of Monday night’s game between the Denver Broncos and the Buffalo Bills, Sean Payton and the Broncos offense faced a decision. Looking at a 4th and 2 from the Buffalo seven-yard line, Payton kept his offense on the field — after trying to draw the Bills defense offsides and then burning a timeout — and put the next play in Russell Wilson’s hands.
That faith was rewarded with statistically the most improbable touchdown completion in recent memory.
