The Rangers and Mets are reportedly in serious talks over a trade that would see veteran starting pitcher Max Scherzer head to Texas, according to Andy Martino of SNY. 
According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the teams have come to terms on an agreement, but the deal will require Scherzer to approve a trade to the Rangers. 
Martino indicated that Scherzer is expected to waive his no-trade clause and approve the trade to Texas. However, other obstacles, reportedly on the “financial side,” still remain before the deal can be made official.
