The question of how Nathaniel Lowe has seen the Rangers change is almost too big for him to answer.
This is his third season in Texas since being traded from Tampa Bay. That’s enough to make the first baseman one of the longest-tenured members of this roster. The team has turned over almost entirely since his first season, in 2021. That first Rangers team Lowe played with lost 102 games. This one is in the World Series. They have a new executive (Chris Young) who convinced an old manager (Bruce Bochy) to come out of retirement for one last shot at steering a team to a championship.

This might be the most unlikely World Series matchup … ever. But whatever you say, Arizona earned its spot.

LeBron James won the first game of his 21st NBA season Thursday night, as the Lakers beat the visiting Suns in the home opener for Los Angeles. James contributed 21 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in 35 minutes to lead the way for the Lakers.
One image in particular shows how spry James remains at age 38, despite playing the third-most minutes in NBA history over his career. The superstar forward was photographed jumping to deflect a Suns pass to Kevin Durant, and the veteran got way up in the air to get a piece of the ball.

Damian Lillard scored 39 points — a record for points in a first game with the Bucks franchise — including the team’s final 11 points to help Milwaukee seal a season-opening victory over the 76ers.

Damian Lillard lived up to the hype in his debut with the Bucks on Thursday night. The seven-time All-Star recorded a game-high 39 points along with eight rebounds and four assists in a 118–117 win over the visiting 76ers. 
Lillard notched Milwaukee’s final five points, including a clutch three-pointer, to clinch the victory. He scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, leading to a record-high scoring total for a player making his Bucks debut. 
Afterward, ESPN’s SportsCenter social media feeds posted what initially appeared to be a postgame interview with Lillard.

We’re approaching the midway point of the NFL season.
For some teams, that means making a move up the standings. The Rams, Vikings, Packers and Commanders are all NFC teams who some believed in this preseason, yet currently have losing records. Minnesota has been surging lately, but can it continue? Green Bay hopes not.

Few, if anyone, would have predicted this World Series matchup when the postseason started a month ago. The Rangers had stumbled in the season’s final weekend to give away the NL West title to the Astros, instead sliding them into a matchup with the 99-win Rays in the wild-card series.

It’s the final weekend of college football before the first CFP rankings are released next week. This is certainly the time of year where upsets can shift the landscape, and Saturday presents a number of opportunities.
Georgia will head into its matchup against Florida without Brock Bowers to lean on, with a lot of folks, Bulldog fans included, wondering what this offense looks like without him. Carson Beck’s safety net is gone, so I’m interested to see how the Gators attack the Georgia QB.
Another weekend of premier action in the Pac-12 is here, with Oregon traveling to Utah.

That’s the case with Daniel Domian, a strength and conditioning intern for Rice. He wears a hat, sunglasses and a black glove on one hand with a plastic bag full of gummy worms in the other. He is Rice football’s gummy worm guy, and he keeps the Owls refueled during games—one small confectionery treat at a time.
