Adam Silver is not leaving the NBA. Not right now, anyway.
Multiple reports have circulated lately putting the NBA commissioner on the shortlist to take over for Bob Iger as Disney’s CEO.
But according to a report by The Athletic this week, Silver isn’t interested in the move.
“I love my job at the NBA. I have no intention of going anywhere,” Silver said.

Disney has been in relative turmoil of late, as former CEO Bob Chapek was ousted after just a few years at the helm.
Afterward, former CEO Iger took over.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Hunter Renfroe wasn’t going to waste any time throwing down a highlight reel catch.
Even better, the catch saved him from ending up on the blooper reel instead.
It happened on. opening day with the Angels up the coast in Oakland.
A’s second baseman Jace Peterson turned on the 2-0 offering and lined it into right field. After initially misjudging it. Renfroe got on his horse, then threw his glove up for a jaw-dropping no-look catch.

Texas Tech is hiring North Texas head coach Grant McCasland to be their new men’s basketball coach, the team announced on Twitter Friday.
McCasland is coming off a season where he led North Texas to a 31–7 record and an NIT championship on Thursday. In six seasons with the Mean Green, McCasland recorded a 155–77 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021, when North Texas upset Purdue as a No. 13 seed in the first round.
Prior to joining North Texas, McCasland was an assistant at Baylor and a head coach for one year at Arkansas State.
Seven-time all-star LaMarcus Aldridge announced his retirement from the NBA after 16 seasons with three different franchises.
“In the words of TB12, you only get one big, emotional retirement,” Aldridge tweeted on Friday. “So, on that note…I’m thankful for all the memories, family and friends I made throughout my career. It was one hell of a ride and I enjoyed every min! 12.”
This is the second time that Aldridge has walked away from basketball hence the reference to NFL great Tom Brady, but this time, it was on his own terms.
The first thing you notice about Anthony Joshua is he looks happy. Not comfortable. Joshua hates media events, Wednesday’s press conference to promote his matchup with Jermaine Franklin on Saturday included.
“It’s entertainment,” Joshua said. “I prefer normal stuff.” But he’s happy. Flanked by his new trainer, Derrick James, Joshua smiled repeatedly during the half hour he was onstage. Of his fight with Franklin, Joshua said, “We’re ready to rock and roll.”
It’s notable, if only because against Franklin, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Former Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo is joining Chip Kelly’s staff at UCLA as the program’s director of leadership.
Niumatalolo, who was let go at the end of last season after 15 years as head coach in Annapolis, will serve as an advisor to the football staff and student-athletes in his new role with the Bruins.
The off-field role will be a new endeavor for Niumatalolo, who won 109 games and left Navy as the school’s all-time leader in victories.
Larry Bird wasn’t a fan of the Detroit Pistons using guys to lock him up.
Bird was a dominant player for more than a decade in the NBA, and plenty of guys have debated over beers at the bar whether or not he’s the greatest white player in league history. The former Boston Celtics forward was silk smooth and had no problem chopping up defenses on his way to winning three titles.
Apparently, he felt he was so dominant that he only wanted black players to guard him. Anything less was viewed by Bird as a sign of disrespect, fellow NBA legend Isaiah Thomas revealed on the “All The Smoke.
The NBA and NBPA are trying to finalize a new collective bargaining agreement ahead of Friday night’s opt-out deadline, but one key change does not appear to be on the table. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the new CBA isn’t expected to include a change to the NBA Draft’s “one-and-done” rule.
Currently, draft prospects must be at least 19 years old during the calendar year of the draft to put their name in the pool. That means that high school graduates have to play elsewhere, whether that be college, the G League or overseas, for a season before joining the league.
For all of the criticism that Michigan endured last season on the recruiting trail, the last few weeks have most definitely put an end to that. After multiple visits to Ann Arbor, with the most recent appearance coming this weekend, and meetings with both Jim Harbaugh and new QB coach Kirk Campbell, five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis has announced his commitment to the Wolverines.
From Peter Maivia and Yokozuna to The Rock and Roman Reigns, no family unit has done more in wrestling history.
