Former Yankees closer and Rangers All-Star John Wetteland, 56, had charges of aggravated sexual assault against a child dropped against him after a long legal battle.
In 2019, the former World Series MVP (’96) was accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old relative on three occasions at his Bartonville home between 2004 to 2006.
Wetteland’s Denton County court records, relayed by WFAA, revealed that the charges were dropped against the ex-pitcher on Mar. 23, following a split-decision jury in August 2022. Wetteland was facing 25 years in prison over the allegations.

Former White Sox broadcaster Ken “Hawk” Harrelson retired from his duties in Chicago after the 2018 MLB season, but the 81-year-old indicates there’s more to his departure than what was originally revealed. 
During an interview on the Foul Territory podcast with Scott Braun and former White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski, Harrelson alleged that while he publicly retired, it was the organization pulling the strings.

Fresh off its first NCAA tournament appearance in 12 years, the Penn State men’s basketball program is apparently zeroing in on its next head coach.
The Nittany Lions have reportedly offered the position to current VCU coach Mike Rhoades, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. The offer is reportedly worth over $3 million per year.
Rhoades, 50, has spent the past six seasons with VCU, leading the Rams to NCAA tournament appearances three times during that span.

NFL Media parted ways with the longtime league writer after nearly five years on Monday.
Longtime NFL writer Jim Trotter announced Monday that he was leaving the NFL media group after five years, as his contract was not renewed. Trotter, who questioned commissioner Roger Goodell on the ongoing issues with diversity within the league and NFL media newsroom, believes his challenging of the league’s commissioner could’ve played a role in his departure.
