Based on their low average draft position, these hitters offer great value.
Fantasy draft season is in full swing, and as you get into the later rounds of your draft you’ll be looking to take some swings of your own.
Baseball is a tough business. Often, young players endure a mediocre start after too much hype and we write them off. But should we?
Enter, the post-hype sleepers.
The five players listed here are some of my favorites based on their average draft position (ADP) and what they can offer if they can fulfill their potential in the major leagues.

What a special moment.
Shohei Ohtani showed everyone Tuesday night that he is far and away the best player in baseball right now, a player who can do things nobody has really ever done in the game.
Following his game-ending strikeout of his Angels teammate Mike Trout, Ohtani celebrated with his teammates and then was able to talk with another all-world pitcher, Pedro Martinez, who had a powerful message for the Angels star.
Martinez is one of the best to ever do it, so to hear these words come out of his mouth had to mean a lot to Ohtani.

Clippers fans collectively held their breath after seeing one of the team’s stars fall to the ground Tuesday.
Clippers All-Star Paul George left Tuesday night’s 101–100 loss to the Thunder late in the fourth quarter after appearing to suffer a rather a frightening leg injury.
With just under five minutes remaining in the Western Conference tilt, George leapt up for a rebound alongside Thunder guard Luguentz Dort. While in the air, George’s right knee appeared to collide with Dort’s right leg, causing the Clippers star to land awkwardly and immediately fall to the floor.

He leaves for Providence after just two seasons at George Mason.
Providence is hiring George Mason’s Kim English as its next men’s basketball coach, according to a report from John Fanta of Fox Sports.
The 34-year-old English is set to take over the Friars’ program after Ed Cooley left after 12 seasons for the Georgetown job earlier this week. Cooley will be introduced in Washington D.C. on Wednesday as the new coach of the Hoyas.

Tuesday night in the NBA was full of playoff implications and atmospheres to match.
This is the kind of night in the NBA that I personally love. Three of the six games on Tuesday’s slate promised playoff-esque atmospheres, if not playoff-esque results. The three others? Not much to write home about from a matchup perspective, but who doesn’t love some lower-tier League Pass action on the early side?
To the scores we go.

Chargers running back Austin Ekeler thinks he deserves a lot more money.
Ekeler is currently entering the final year of a four year, $24.5 million contract (numbers via Spotrac), and he thinks he’s been sorely underpaid. That has led to Ekeler trying to find a new home, and he wants to get paid if he does.
“Look, man, I’m so underpaid right now as far as my contract and what I contribute to the team. It’s like, I am relentlessly pursuing this. I want to get something long-term done. I want a team that wants me long term,” Ekeler said during an interview with Chris Long.

Each of the conference’s biggest stars has plenty at stake heading into this year’s postseason.
There is no clear-cut favorite in the Eastern Conference to make the Finals right now. It’s simultaneously thrilling and unsettling. Seriously, how are you supposed to separate the Bucks, Sixers and Celtics? Boston came out of the gate incredibly strong, and while the C’s have cooled off, they are still top five in both offense and defense, the only team in the league with that distinction.

While going head to head with male players in an MLS youth academy, the 2023 NWSL top draft pick didn’t just keep up with the boys—she stood out among them.
Every game, you could hear the same sideline rumblings, the same surprised observation: There’s a girl on the other team.
A girl was playing for Total Futbol Academy in MLS Next, the top level of U.S. boys’ talent. Academy programs like this one produced men’s national team stars Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams. Every guy on the field wanted to make it to the pros. And the girl? She’d already made it.

He was not happy with the fan attendance at Tuesday night’s NIT game.
Oregon’s men’s basketball season ended on Tuesday night with a 61–58 home loss in the NIT quarterfinal to Wisconsin. The defeat ended a disappointing season overall for the Ducks, who have become accustomed to making the NCAA tournament under coach Dana Altman.
The disappointment in the season seeped over into the lack of fan support at Tuesday night’s critical NIT matchup, where only 3,300 fans were estimated in attendance.
