New York City is mourning the loss of Knicks legend Willis Reed. The NY icon passed away on Tuesday at age 80.
Reed spent his career as a New York Knick and co-led the team to two championships alongside fellow legend Walt Frazier. Reed’s legacy includes having a historic game named after him.
After Reed suffered a thigh injury against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Los Angeles tied the championship series against the Knicks with a Game 6 win.

His status for Game 7 was a mystery to everyone but Reed.

The Sun Devils basketball coach led the team to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2019.
Arizona State men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley agreed to two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Sun Devils’ program through the 2026, the school announced Tuesday.
Hurley has led ASU to four seasons of 20 or more wins, inlcuing the 2022-23 campaign, where the Sun Devils finished 23–13 and fifth in the Pac-12.

Abram was a first-round draft pick by the Raiders in 2019.
Free agent safety Johnathan Abram plans to sign with the New Orleans Saints, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Tuesday night.
Abram was selected by the Raiders with pick No. 27 of the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, following a standout career at Mississippi State. In 35 games for the Raiders, Abram made 246 tackles and recorded three interceptions.
Following a mostly disappointing career, Abram was waived by the Raiders on Nov. 8 last season.

Kyle Ford is so jacked that D.K. Metcalf doesn’t make him look small. That may not seem like a big deal, but it is. Metcalf makes everybody look small.
Just ask A.J. Brown— who is absolutely chiseled in his own right.
A,J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf
Metcalf, at 25 years old, stands 6-foot-4, 235. Ford, a fifth-year senior, is 6-foot-3, 225 pounds.
From Orange, California, Ford was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2019. He committed to USC over offers from Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and 22 other offers.

NFL fans were almost treated to a Ben Roethlisberger-led San Francisco 49ers team last season.
Big Ben caught some attention during a radio interview on Tuesday when he mentioned that the Niners reached out to him last year to gauge his interest in coming out of retirement to play in Santa Clara.
Roethlisberger pledged his allegiance to the Steelers when he passed on the opportunity, but admitted that he was tempted to join the Red & Gold.

“There were some truths to the Niners thing,” Roethlisberger said on 105.9’s The X.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said he is thrilled with the excitement around the World Baseball Classic but hopes to see pitching staffs that are “of the same quality as our position players” in the 2026 edition.

He stole the crown from Wayne Gretzky with his latest tally.
Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin notched his 40th goal of the 2022-23 NHL season Tuesday night against the Blue Jackets. In doing so, Washington’s captain set himself apart in league history, breaking the record for most 40-goal seasons ever.
The record was previously held by the legendary Wayne Gretzky, who recorded 12 such seasons throughout his career with the Oilers, Kings, Blues and Rangers.

The Phillies star staked Team USA to an early lead in the WBC championship game.
Trea Turner is at it again.
In the top of the second inning of the World Baseball Classic championship game against Japan on Tuesday night, the dynamic shortstop tied the WBC tournament home run record when he crushed a 2-1 pitch from Shota Imanaga over the left-field wall at loanDepot Park in Miami.
Turner’s five home runs in this year’s World Baseball Classic ties South Korea’s Lee Seung-yuop’s mark set in the inaugural tournament in 2006.

Arch Manning might be the golden child, but his hopes of starting at Texas as a true freshman are slim. It’s not to say that he couldn’t play his way into the QB1 spot. It’s just unlikely and it always has been.
Manning, the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2023, chose to forgo the second semester of his senior year of high school and enroll early in Austin. The move, which is becoming increasingly common within the sport, allows him to get on campus and get a feel for college life before the fall semester hits and football season kicks into gear.
