Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta loves him some Mardi Gras and apparently Victor Wembanyama, too.
Fertitta professed his love for Wembanyama, a French big man and surefire top pick in June’s NBA draft, over the weekend.
Houston radio’s Sean Pendergast caught up with Fertitta during a Mardi Gras celebration to talk hoops and…prayers.
“We gotta thank God we got 10 days off,” a seemingly well-within his cups Feritta said, referencing the NBA’s All-Star break.
The comment made it clear that Fertitta isn’t exactly enjoying the season. Houston is an NBA-worst 13-45.

Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green was on interview duty during the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday and decided to ask Ja Morant if he’s “still fine in the West,” to which the Memphis Grizzlies star gave a great response.
Morant turned heads ahead of the Grizzlies’ Christmas Day game against the Warriors when he sat down for an interview and decided it was a good idea to say “I’m fine in the West,” signaling that he doesn’t see any real threat in the Western Conference.
The Grizzlies have gone 12-14 overall since Morant called out the West.

After beginning the 2023 college baseball season at 1-0, Missouri University of Science and Technology may have been screwed out of its second win Sunday. An ump show proceeded to unfold and ended in controversy.
Missouri S&T hosted Wayne State College for its first series of the year. Both teams compete on the D-II level.
Because of the long weekend, the series was played Saturday, Sunday and Monday, rather than the standard Friday start. It was also a four-game series, with a seven-inning doubleheader played on Sunday.
This is where the dissention lies.

The ex-Crimson Tide star helped lead a wild fourth-quarter comeback.
The XFL returned to action over the weekend, with all eight teams kicking off their 2023 season. The St. Louis Battlehawks escaped with a close victory on the road against the San Antonio Brahmas. In the aftermath, St. Louis quarterback AJ McCarron delivered an emotional interview, fighting back tears after a hard-fought victory.
McCarron, who is best known for his tenure as the QB at Alabama, celebrated the win with his two sons, struggled to find the words to describe the comeback victory.

Nick Wright shares his offseason NFL Tiers based on these categories: blow it up, rebuilding, be patient, one move away and go all in. Watch as Nick explains why fans should go all in on the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles, while his Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys are one move away from serious contention, despite K.C. as Super Bowl LVII champs. He then explains why you should be patient towards the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, along with calling for the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders to rebuild.

The Boston owner addressed criticism in a recent email interview.
The Red Sox had a tumultuous offseason, losing franchise cornerstone Xander Bogaerts while the team continues to transition into a new era. However, coming off a last-place showing in 2022 and now without a fan favorite, Boston’s ownership is facing criticism over its approach to the team.
