It was a special night for the Commodores.
Vanderbilt men’s basketball pulled off a stunning road upset of Kentucky on Wednesday night, defeating its SEC rivals 68–66 to improve to 17–13 on the season. Head coach Jerry Stackhouse couldn’t hide his emotion after what was a statement win for the Commodores, and one of their biggest victories since he took over the program.
Vanderbilt was led in scoring by senior guard Jordan Wright, the first player Stackhouse recruited to the program, and the 48-year-old was tearing up as he discussed the importance of the win in the aftermath.

Kevin Durant has faced criticism over the years, and on Wednesday he began his latest journey. But he wants to make sure you know not much has changed.

The first round of the 2023 SEC Tournament in women’s college hoops got off to a chippy start. The Wednesday night matchup between Kentucky and Florida featured a full-on brawl on the court after a Gators player threw a basketball at her opponent’s head.
With five minutes left in the second quarter, University of Kentucky forward Ajae Petty cradled the ball after a basket was made and put it up to Florida forward Tatyana Wyche’s face.
Petty tried to punk Wyche, but the move quickly backfired.

Phoenix’s new superstar dropped 23 points in his first game for Phoenix.
Kevin Durant made his debut for his new team on Wednesday night, returning from injury in order to play in the Suns‘ 105-91 win over the Hornets. Durant piled in 23 points across 27 minutes, but didn’t deny that he was feeling the nerves before taking the court with his new teammates.
While speaking to the media after the game, Durant admitted that he felt some pressure to prove himself on the court. 
“New environment, new situation, new teammates,” he said.

The Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 68-65 after Camren Wynter hit a CLUTCH 3-pointer.

The Suns and Mercury stars shared an awesome moment.
Suns superstar Kevin Durant is settling into his new surroundings in Phoenix following his trade from the Nets, and he linked up with another basketball star in the area ahead of his debut for his new team. 
On Wednesday, a heartwarming video surfaced of Durant exchanging a hug with Mercury star Brittney Griner while she was getting some practice in ahead of the 2023 WNBA season.

Trey Alexander dropped 25 points in the Creighton Bluejays’ 99-59 win over the Georgetown Hoyas.

It was back to regularly-scheduled business for Kevin Durant in his first game with the Suns, helping Phoenix to a win in Charlotte.
